The young ladies in the SB store this summer are a little gossipy and will likely not greet/interact with you. I like seeing the owner branch out with complimentary clothing outside of her own brand - flowy, or loose-fitting, flattering, and vibrant. Some of the haystack-branded pieces are flattering for my body type, comfortable, and professional yet relaxed, but this shop runs on the expensive side. It's great when you can get items on sale here (typically more online than in-store). Their over-the-shoulder wraps are great for any occasion - easy to wear/wash (don't dry). Some of the patterns are fun and some are a little too "crazy." I found a beautiful sweater here (with little wool) that I loved and was less expensive when I saw it at "FP." Great store, and if the owner decided to branch out and make items more affordable, there's a market for that as well!

The employees made fun of customers.. bullied them out of the store.. as one of the middle aged women was leaving, she fell..as the door literally hit her on the way out. All because of a Trump 2020 mask..She was left with skinned knees & a desire to NEVER go to that store again..a place where she’s spent money at for years and years. Have a little tolerance for people who don’t look or think like you. Say goodbye to our business! We’ll be sharing this story with EVERYONE we can in northern Michigan.

I am a long time customer of Haystacks and have always been treated warmly and respectfully, thus I am not surprised that they are considerate of our entire community by requiring masks. Thank you Haystacks for caring enough to be smart, and for the great clothes! #believeScientistsNotMorons

The WHO says masks do nothing to protect the public. Yesterday it was announced that asymptomatic folks are not responsible for spreading the disease. The government is encouraging protesting in large groups and yet Haystacks says you have to wear a mask. No thanks. Shopping elsewhere. Join me and the world of the THINKING. #sheep #lemmings

My first experience a year ago (2019) at Haystacks in Suttons Bay was wonderful. I'm from out of town but had talked it up so much to my sister that we visited on 2/8/2020. The saleswoman/cashier was extremely rude to us. She did everything short of rolling her eyes at us throughout the 45 minutes or so that we shopped. We purchased some items but I don't think we'll ever be back.

Super cute store! We were in town for a wedding and had time to kill so we walked all downtown and I ended up getting two pieces from this store. One of them was a steal on sale and the other is my new favorite sweater! Definitely one of the best women's clothing stores in the area.

I'm a huge s***** for reversibility, so brands like Haystacks and Zand Amsterdam with their reversible skirts really appeal to me. I'm also super finicky, though, so it's hit or miss whether I can find one where I like both sides. I really like how Haystacks skirts fit, and their products are high quality and figure flattering. They're also a splurge, so I always bee-line to the sale racks to see if anything piques my interest. If you like vibrant prints (Desigual, etc)., be sure to pop in to a Haystacks while you're up North.
