Hector is great! He is a very talented stylist. I always look great when I leave the JCP Salon after he cuts/styles my hair. Everyone at the salon is very nice too. They're not pushy on the products but are knowledgeable about which may be best for you if you need help. I do like their sales too!

60.00 dollars! I am doing this in fairness! A beauty school messed up my hair I came here for her to fix. Her name starts with a L! She was fix the front she cut all the layers out the back and said it's even now! For the front was uneven. And she never fixed it. The style she did at time never taught me to do. In FAIRNESS look at front would you post your proof!Services: Blowouts

I love Hektor! He's been cutting and coloring mine and my mom's hair for 20 years, since I was a kid!! He still does; I was just there a few weeks ago. And my mom, she's picky! So this says a lot.. We plan to continue going to Hektor for all our hair needs!!

I went there once and had an ok experience but wasn’t blown away. I went the other day with my 2 daughters and I have so many complaints but my biggest is that when I got my receipt I was charged for services I didn’t even get! They charged me for a cut and style for my daughter and her hair did not look like it was done at a salon. Great Clips would have styled it better! I did not get my hair cut at all because the lady ran out of time but they charged me for a dye and cut. Normally when I leave I feel good and like I saved a ton of money but not that day. I will not be back.Service: Hairstyling

This JCPenney Instyle Salon left me feeling VERY disappointed. Not because of my hair but because of the whole process. On the 10th or 11th, I stopped by to get an estimate on how much it would be for a particular stylist to silk press my hair... then I asked how much it would be to get a whole head of highlights... I then proceeded to ask if I wanted both was I to add the two estimates together. The receptionist told me if I got the full highlights that everything would be included in the price provided and that my total would not exceed the estimate provided. I was told my stylist was in high demand and could not get me in until the 19th. I made my appointment but I kept telling myself I'd call to cancel bc I'm not used to spending that much to get my hair done.... (when I come to Michigan to visit I used to go to a school to get my hair done but the school is now closed down ). Well I finally convinced myself to just go... my appointment was for 12:15. I got there around 12 and got called back. By 12:50 my stylist still hadn't started on my hair. Looking at the time, I wanted to be upset and walk away but my stylist gets a gold star for keeping her clients engaged. You almost didn't realize how much time had passed by without your hair being touched at all. Around 1 my stylist finally started foil-wrapping my hair (applying the highlights). More of her clients started coming in during the duration of me getting my hair done and she was having to juggle multiple clients. While she made this look easy, I felt like I had been sitting there at times way longer than I would have or should have had I gone somewhere else. I sat with product on my hair long enough for my hair to need toner which wouldn't be a surprise for some... but my hair is/was black black. It takes my hair quite a bit of time to turn. Long story short and 4 HOURS later (yes my appointment was for 12:15 and I did not leave until almost 4:30), my hair eventually ended up turning out nice but now let's talk PRICING. When I got to the counter to pay, the price ended up being ALMOST DOUBLE what I was quoted. And nothing changed from what I told the receptionist I wanted done to my hair.... nothing. Everything I had mentioned when I got my estimate is what I got done... nothing more, nothing less. I could not believe what they were charging me after what I was told the max would have been. I did not want to get my hair done for the quoted price so can you imagine how I felt when I saw the actual price. When I said something to the new receptionist and stylist all they said was "the other receptionist lied" I never got a break down of the pricing even after I had asked... all I was told was what this stylist base price starts at and then was told that because I got a full highlights blah blah blah but I'm not understanding how I was told one thing but charged something COMPLETELY different. Not a 5 or 10 dollar difference but literally almost double. What if I didn't have it? I told my mom and she told me they did something similar to her with my little sister. She got quoted and when she came in they said "oh no, we charge by length" and ended up charging them more as well. I think the receptionist and stylist need to come together and get on the same page or just have the stylist come see the hair ask relevant questions and give the quote themselves bc this is poor business. I know people keep saying they love my hair but I can't even enjoy it bc I know how much I paid for it unexpectedly. That took all of the excitement away for me and I'm sorry I chose this salon. I gave this salon 1 star bc I did love my stylist. She is VERY knowledgeable and skilled in her profession. No matter what questions I had regarding my hair, she knew the answers. My hair did look nice (again, I wouldn't have paid this price for it) but it did look nice. And the customer service up until the point of payment was very professional and kind!

I stopped by on a whim to get a trim. I told the stylist that I just wanted a trim of 2 inches. I know that many times hair dressers will take off more than what you say do I thought if I told her 2 inches and she took off 4 inches it would still be ok. Well when all was said and done she took off at least 9 inches. My hair was down to my bra strap in the back where it hooks, and now it's above my shoulders! When she showed me where she wanted to cut it was even with my arm pit. It took me years to grow my hair out, and now I look like a little girl. She asked if I wanted layers, I have some layers in my hair to I told her long layers. Anytime I have had layers done they use a razor blade, like what a barber would use to shave a mans face. What she did was just cut it straight acrossed slightly shorter than what she had cut. I didn't think of it at the time but in this salon they don't have you facing the mirror, they wait until the damage is done and then turn you around, so see how awful you look. I just paid and got out of there, hoping it wasn't as bad as I thought. Once I got home it all set in, years of work to grow it out gone in 20 minutes. I was sick. I called the next day wondering if maybe she was a student and they failed to tell me. I was told I could come in for a refund. On my way I received a voice mail asking I call them so " I don't have to come all the way in, the manager wants to talk to you.". So basically that was the same as saying to me they didn't want me coming in because chances are they weren't giving me a refund. I haven't slept much since my hair cut because I can't, I can't get it out of my head how awful it is. I know it will grow back but for the next year at least the only way I can wear my hair is in a ponytail. Completely sickening!
