Fix your drive thru. I sat there for 10 minutes until my toddlers couldn’t last anymore, watching as multiple customers came and left inside the store. I kept pushing the call button because I needed a withdraw slip. Either it doesn’t work or I was being ignored in favor of the inside customers.

I stopped by on a Tuesday at 2:30 pm to withdraw money. It only took 5 minutes for the associate to call me although there were four people ahead of me and that’s because they seem to run the bank efficiently. Two bankers were also available. The bank also has drive-thru. Associate was friendly.

This is my favorite location by far. I own a business and put my deposit in the overnight box and they get in early and work on those deposits before 9am. I appreciate them!

If they would have told me it takes 3 weeks to clear a payroll check. I would have told them to get f#&@ed instead of opening a account. Never have I waited 3 weeks to get a check to clear anywhere.

As a 16 year banking and mortgage customer, I would feel better about continuing my relationship if there were 60 day notice when benches start closing around me.

Why did I wait 30 minutes for a notary?! The notary was walking past my and stated another 10 minutes. Why not just sign it!

I wouldn't even give this bank a one star review! I normally bank at the location in roseville on frazho & gratiot (all the girls who work there are absolutely amazing) I have been with charter one for 9 yrs and after my experience today with this location you better believe the ONLY reason I don't close my accounts is because of how well I am treated at the Roseville branch. This sterling heights 18 mile & dequindre should be ashamed! Those ladies are rude and disrespectful I will never be back I promise that! I was in tears after I left there, but sure enough I called my regular branch and they put a smile back on my face with in 2 seconds :) everything worked out!

I use the 18/Dequindre branch usually as I live closest to there and opened my accounts there. But in general I withdraw and deal with many Charter One's in Metro Detroit. I have used this bank for years now and they have ALWAYS taken care of me. If I was charged an overdraft fee just for going under by a little bit - I would talk to a manager and she would get it waived. Recently I was charged monthly $20 service fees from being in an incorrect savings account tier. I had to have a minimum $x balance for it to be free, but after a big withdrawal, I fell below that minimum balance and the teller I worked with failed to mention that I fell below the minimum balance. So lo and behold after 4 months of not noticing and accruing $80 in service fees - I went in, explained the situation, and my banking manager called their corporate office and got all 4 $20 fees reversed. That kind of thing in today's economic turbulence is difficult - and still Charter One took care of me. Another nice thing is that they don't double charge you when using another bank's ATM. You just pay the other bank's transaction fee, but Charter One does not take anything additional from you. If you are staying in the Metro Detroit area, Charter One is great - I highly recommend for your savings/checking and ATMs are everywhere. If you travel a LOT, then you may want to go with Chase, WaMu, or Bank of America!
