My interactions with the doctors and vet tech staff at VCA were undoubtedly pleasant; they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. However, my overall experience left much to be desired.Although the app they provide is a nice touch, my initial appointment started on a frustrating note. I arrived a few minutes early but had forgotten my wallet. I promptly called from the parking lot to inform them and assure them of my prompt return. Unfortunately, the encounter with A lady at the front desk turned into an unnecessary argument, consuming valuable time. I only live three minutes away and during the time she argued with me, I could’ve been back. Ultimately, they ended up seeing me, however, it was very off-putting.On my second visit the irony, struck as I waited alone in the back room for 30 minutes, which was unexpected and disappointing, especially considering the previous encounter.Regarding the vaccines, my specific request for only core vaccinations for my puppy was overlooked. Upon reviewing the paperwork more carefully, I discovered an additional vaccine, listed as “l” (lepto), was administered. This led to an adverse reaction in my puppy, exacerbating my dissatisfaction. While the paperwork did indicate the inclusion of the lepto vaccine, I was unaware that it was being added to the parvo and distemper vaccinations, highlighting a lack of clear communication about the vaccination plan. If there had been clearer communication about the vaccination plan and any additional vaccines being administered, I could have made a more informed decision regarding my puppy’s health care.Additionally, when I called back to discuss the adverse reaction my puppy had to the vaccine, I spoke with the same unaccommodating front desk lady. Unfortunately, she was quite short on the phone and did not provide much assistance or empathy, which added to my frustration with the overall experience.However, on my last visit, there were no issues, which was refreshing and they gave my puppy something to avoid lreaction this time.Throughout my visits, the vet and vet tech I dealt with were exceptionally kind. I wish I could remember the vet techs name, but he gets five stars along with the vet! Their warmth and professionalism were commendable and made the overall experience more bearable. Additionally, on my very first trip back after the initial kerfuffle, the vet was understanding and even discounted one of my puppy’s medications for me, which was appreciated.Each appointment averaged about $250, and for vaccines and some antibiotics, I spent over $1000 there in three visits.While this place sufficed to finish my puppy’s vaccine series, the combination of frustrating appointment experiences, experience with the woman who probably doesn’t belong in a customer service role, vaccination concerns, and high costs has led me to the decision to find primary care elsewhere and only return if something urgent comes up.

Took us last minute after a cancelation & some begging. what potentially could have been an anxious situation... Were very calming , great, love staff. Great care, very clean and Blessed to call them neighbors.

Absolutely love this place! The staff is really awesome here, everyone really seems to care about the pets like they were they're own. Very friendly and accommodating. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend

The people here are very informative. They seem pretty gentle with the fur babies. While their pricing doesn't always look the greatest, they're just trying to make sure your baby is taken care of and offer a plethora of services.

Joined care club to get dog fixed and vaccines. It was expiring soon so I called , and girl checked and told me he had more free services including vaccines. So tonight we brought him in only for them to say oh no he used up all of care club! Spent over 1000.00 for care club, and now this! They have great hours but are so expensive! Don’t let care club fool you it’s a trap!!

The VCA team in Saint Clair Shores has been nothing but amazing everytime I've come in with my cats. The techs are incredible with handling my animals, and the vets are very thorough in their treatment explanations and health plans. I have never had an issue scheduling appointments here, and the staff on the phone is always very pleasant. Thank you VCA SCS! I highly recommend them to anyone in the area!

I recently relocated, so I needed a new vet. My previous vet was a low-cost clinic, but VCA pricing seems competitive.The service is highly quality. Scheduling an appointment over the phone was easy. We were in and out of the clinic super fast. The staff and vet were kind , knowledgeable, and friendly.Highly recommend

Took my puppies and the mom here. Very expensive but most vets are. Staff is super friendly and answered all my questions. My furbabies got their shots all together. Will go here again after I save my pennies of course.

The staff was amazing and everything was so smooth. I definitely recommend it. Our Lola is a nervous pup as it is and she did so good. I really think it has to do with how loving the people are that work there and the vet.

0 stars if I could. I made a vet appointment on the 1st of November. The soonest they could get me in was the 13th. It would have been my first visit there. They took all the information and said they would contact my previous vet for the records. I called to confirm and they have no record of the appt but have all my information. My dog has been miserable for 2 weeks waiting on the appointment, not back to square one. In my opinion it a poorly run operation.
