Just another unhappy customer regarding Shores service. My Fireplace insert had issues on day one which we eventually lived with. I made a service call back in August 2023 for Fireplace repair. Waited until October 2023 for technician availability. Informed 3 parts were needed. Paid $190 for the service call and then paid over $350 to order the parts and waited 4 months to arrive and another month to schedule for installation. Technician tried to install the parts then informed us another part, a broken valve was needed to be ordered. Another $200 and another 2-3 weeks to install. My patience and confidence in Shores is exhausted. I’m eating the cost expended and moving on to a more reputable company with solid reviews.

Went in to shop on a weekend and we were treated well. Our questions were answered and we were given a catalog to take home. Called them with our choice and placed our order over the phone. 2 weeks later the installers showed up. They were early and did a great job. Our vent free birch gas log set looks great in our 100 year old carved cement firebox. Aside from one delayed measurement appointment because an employee was in hospital everything went as expected. Fair price, good people, job finished as expected.

They did an excellent job of installing the 40 ft gas line and setting up the logs in our fireplace. Plus, they gave us an extra gas line outside to hook into a new grill. Bret was very professional and responsive.

I was very pleased with the service I received from both Duane at the Fireplace store for the purchase of my new gas log insert with the dial to turn it on.Brett and Antonio were great regarding the installation as they had to return because I did not have a gas line available to connect the new fireplace insert. It was close to Christmas and even though Brett said they were booked, he managed to install the line and connect my new fireplace logs before Christmas. They were efficient, competent and made sure every thing was code compliant.

I purchased a ventless fireplace set from the St. Clair Shores store on Nov. 11th to replace a vented unit that had been installed over 30 years ago. After completing the installation, it became apparent that the burner was releasing unburned natural gas. After calling DTE, the system was shut down due to excessive natural gas detected. After calling the Shores location, my concerns were immediately dismissed saying it was likely odor caused by the initial burn off. After waiting ten days for a service call, the service representative told me nothing could be done because the gas line used in the initial installation was undersized by 1/8”. After replacing the line to meet manufacturer requirements, DTE was called again, and the system was again shut down. The store showed no urgency in addressing my problem stating that it was the manufacturer’s issue, and the store bore no responsibility. Rather than address the matter themselves, I was given the name and number of a customer service representative at Empire, the fireplace manufacturer. I placed multiple calls to Empire and never received a response. Calls to the St. Clair Shores store were also never returned. It wasn’t until the store manager of the Lake Orion store got involved and the threat of disputing the credit card charge, that the Shores location took me seriously and allowed me to swap the defective burner for another. Even at that time, the store continued to state this was a manufacture matter. It took over 30 days and three DTE shut downs for the matter to be resolved and only after threatening to stop payment.
I warn anyone contemplating a purchase at Shores Fireplace and BBQ to be aware, based on my experience, they do not stand behind their products should there be an issue.

Visited this store on Saturday, September 30. Two store employees were working. One was helping another customer. The other was sitting at the desk. He spoke but didn't get up to assist me or even ask me what help/assistance I needed. Left and spent my $6000 at another store in Macomb County. Will never recommend them or visit there again.

My husband and I were looking for a grill, and stopped at Shores BBQ. We had a lot of questions, and the customer service was far beyond any knowledge we had received from other dealers. They offered product, accessories, and walked us through possible options for an outdoor area. Highly recommended. Thank You so much. We love our products.

I was looking at grills from big box stores, a co-worker said I had to look at Shores before I purchased. I'm so glad I took the time to visit the store. The selection fit what I was looking for, but the service was what made me purchase from Shores. The sales staff was so friendly and helpful. Love the new grill!!
