Big Thank you to Gilbert’s Hardware, specifically Jennifer who provided the best service, for helping me create a bracket for my deck shade. Below is the result. Hometown business with great service can not ask for better.

Friendly & helpful are the first words that come to mind. You are greeted when you walk in, soon after someone is right there personally assist you. Or you can browse if you like. When I was here, everyone came in with a specific issue. And the staff listened and then guided the customer. Then explained their advice to them and what they would need for their specific issue. While I was waiting, I talked to another customer that said he shopped at Gilbert's for 20 years. They have to be doing something right. They beat Ace Hardware prices on most everything.

The place you go for project needs! When you cant find you just ask. They always have more then enough staff on hand. The staff has always been able to answer any questions or provide any hard to find materials. Or at least another solution to the problem. They also offer a rewards program to honour your buisness.

There is no better hardware store anywhere! You are always greeted at the door and one if there knowledgable staff asks if you need help with anything. They offer ideas, tips and actually teach you how to do simpler tasks like replacing a cord or unplugging a clogged drain. my trip today was to get a modified phillips screw for an old cabinet hinge that they cut to size for me. They trimmed 3 different screws to give me options. My bill was 15 cents.... eEveryone in the neighborhood had stories of praise. The best.....

So I'm repairing a very old laundry tub drain that's leaking, the old drain parts just crumble in my hands. The PVC plastic replacement parts found in my Google search were stupid expensive - $60+ (and you pay shipping) for a plastic drain assembly for a double tub laundry sink! For that price they can keep it!I had watched a unrelated plumbing video from Gilbert's Pro Hardware on YouTube and from going to their website I found that they were located a couple of cities over from me.On a lark I fought rush hour traffic and drove to their store to see if they could help me.The parts they had were not the exact replacement parts for my drain but they did fit with a little massaging, the drain don't leak anymore, I didn't have to pay and wait a week for shipping, and all of the parts cost less than $38.Some people get caught up with wanting the"exact replacement parts" thing and will play the "buy it and return it if it doesn't fit" game, that's time and money wasted IMHO.when it comes to old plumbing, a experienced hardware person that understands what you are trying to do is invaluable.
