Buyer beware!! My wife purchased a 2014 Ford Escape with just under 61,000 miles from Lakeside back in July. Colin was our salesman. After taking the car for a test drive, I noticed that the brakes were bad, and it needed new tires. Colin offered to install new brakes and tires at no additional cost, so we agreed. A few days later after the repairs were made, we went back to close the deal. I test drove the car again to make sure everything seemed right, and noticed the front left turn signal wasn't working. Colin also agreed to repair this at a later date, as they needed to order a part for it. We also purchased an extended service agreement for $2000 in addition to the 45 day warranty offered by Lakeside. Three days after we brought it home I noticed there was a fluid leak from the front axle, and the front left rim was coated in a thick layer of grease. So I called Colin to see what they would do about it. After talking to higher ups, he called back and told me I should bring it to a local repair shop and use our just purchased extended service agreement to pay for it. I disagreed, and told him I thought they should repair it, since we were well within their 45 day warranty. He said he was just trying to get the repairs done as quickly as possible because their service department was booked out for at least a month. I wasn't happy, and tried to argue my point. The argument became rather heated, but he refused to do anything else about the problem. So we took the car to Barber Ford. They also were booked and it took three weeks to get an appointment to get it in there. They said the front axle was indeed leaking, and the half shaft needed to be replaced, and it also needed a four wheel alignment. They also said our newly purchased service agreement would not cover this repair. So, on top of not being able to drive our new car for a month after we brought it home, we had to pay $827 out of pocket to get it road worthy. I kept Colin informed about the situation through text messages, and was ignored. After we got the axle repaired, Lakeside still owed us the turn signal repair. So, I called to make an appointment for that, and wasn't able to get it in until 2 months after we purchased the vehicle. While we were there I explained the situation to Jon, the sales manager. His offer was to pay half for the repairs that Barber Ford completed, after giving me a sob story about getting screwed on a car when he was younger, which was really strange. I did not think this was fair, and felt like they should have covered the total cost of the repairs, but was so sick of dealing with them at that point I just wanted to be done with the whole mess, so I agreed to take half. A few days after they repaired the turn signal, it stopped working again, so I had to make another appointment and have them try again. At one point Colin told me that they inspect all their vehicles before they go on the lot. This vehicle had four issues, bad brakes, bad tires, a broken turn signal, and a bad axle, and I found them all. I don't see how all those issues were missed when (if) it was inspected. Ironically, we love the car now that all the repairs have been done. It didn't have to be this way, except for their incompetence. Overall it was a nightmare experience that dragged on for over two months. It caused my wife and I a lot of unnecessary stress and frustration. I know about cars, and shopping for them, and tried really hard to do my due diligence, so as not to get screwed by a shady used car salesman, yet I still got screwed by a shady used car salesman working for a shady used car lot. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would in fact recommend that you take your business elsewhere.

I had the best car buying experience ever here. Caleb Moon and the rest of the staff were just phenomenal. I had a couple things they needed to do before I picked the car up, including restoration of my driver seat, which was pretty cracked from the last owner.
They completed everything they promised they would. I completely trust and highly recommend this dealership.
They go above and beyond!

Update: I am surprised to see so many 5 star reviews. My husband and I, regretfully purchased a Jeep from Lakeside. In less than 2 years, we have paid well over $3500 dollars in repairs and the Jeep is in the shop again, today. (We must have purchased one of the few lemons on the lot). Lakeside was kind enough to rebuild (or replace) the engine for us when we purchased the vehicle. They must have known it was a lemon. Todd was nice and made the sale. I must be wrong to think Lakeside is a shady dealership.
As of 9/5/2024 (it is in the shop again)
We have spent over $7000 on the Jeep we sadly purchased from Lakeside. Best of luck to those who choose to purchase a vehicle from this place.

I had an absolutely dreadful experience with Lake Side Automotive. They sold me a car that immediately required $5,000 worth of repairs. To make matters worse, I found out they did the exact same thing to someone I know. It seems like they have a pattern of offloading cars in terrible condition and then leaving customers stuck with massive repair bills. Avoid this place at all costs if you don’t want to end up with a money pit and a whole lot of frustration. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST

I purchased a 2005 Subaru Forester from Lakeside and Justin was great to work with. He was friendly, up-front on the vehicle condition, had the paperwork all ready to go, and answered any question I had. In addition I got a great deal on the vehicle. Thanks!
