I dropped my car off for an oil change and a tune up at opening and was told that it would be $280 for my Chevy Equinox, I was first in line and that someone would reach out to me. I didn’t hear back until 5 hours later about my car and the mechanic told me the oil change and tune up wouldn’t fix the problem with my car and refused to provide the service I requested for the oil change and tune up, the staff was rude and provided terrible customer service, telling me to have my original mechanic fix the issue since I didn’t want to pay $540 for the repairs he found. I still had to pay $85 for an inspection when I knew what my problem was, I needed an oil change. I took my car to Firestone up the road, they serviced my car and no issues were found, I got my oil change and tune up and the engine light was gone. I will not be back to this rude place ever again. None of the issues he found were necessary and he was upset that I was not interested in the other services he was suggesting I have done. If I wanted an inspection, I would have taken my car to Autozone and gotten it for free, which I did also, the reason he provided my car’s check engine light was on, was not found. He tried to overcharge me and I was not having it.

I dropped my car off at Riverside Auto Care last week due to a gas leak. They informed me that that the fuel line was damaged and they would be able to repair the car on the same day they receive the part. When I went to pick up the car, I assumed I was just going to pay for the service they provided and be on my way. Instead, the gentleman brought me outside of the shop to:1. Show me the damaged fuel line that was underneath my car and explain why/how it got damaged.2. Explained to me how the fuel line was installed.3. Explained the reasoning the cost of the service they provided.It always a bummer having to cough up money for auto repairs, but I've never experienced a auto shop going out of their way to explain in detail the what/why/how. This is something I did not ask for and it was greatly appreciated since I'm not too savvy when it comes to auto repairs. Previous auto shops I've gone to will just collect your money, hand you your keys, and you're on your way. It was definitely a great experience getting my car fixed at Riverside Auto Care.

Guy on the phone claims he can't find the very simple cable I need for my car despite showing him they are available online for 30$. This mechanic does not want to work anymore. Look for someone else.

For the last three years or so I’ve been bringing my cars here to John and his team at Riverside Auto in Southgate on Fort St. I don’t know about anyone else but I’d rather have someone tell me straight up “here’s what’s wrong and what it’s gonna cost” or “this is something we can’t do” etc. John and his guys is someone I definitely trust my family’s cars with. Family of 5 and we have taken 5 cars here and I’ve never ONCE been disappointed in the service or the result. They’ve been right every time. Yes one time I was major engine repair and he told me “don’t waste your money, it’s gonna cost more than it’s worth to fix” and didn’t charge me hardly anything even though he and his guys spent a TON of time on it. I genuinely believe they want to be of good service to people and do right by others. I hate I’m moving now out of state because I’ll have to find someone else to build up trust with.Feel confident taking your cars there. Take a minute, build a report with him and let them tell it to you straight. Take em a couple cases of good beer and show them your appreciation ?Services: Brakes

I WENT TO A SHOP DOWN THE STREET FROM HERE ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND HAD SOME COSTLY REPAIRS DONE. FAST FORWARD 3 MONTHS AND MY CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING IT WAS DOING BEFORE THE PREVIOUS REPAIR. I TOOK MY CAR TO "RIVERSIDE AUTO" IN SOUTHGATE AND LEARNED THAT THE REPAIR DONE 3 MONTHS AGO AS STATED ON MY RECEIPT WAS NOT DONE. RIVERSIDE WAS VERY THOROUGH EXPLAINING AND SHOWING ME WHAT THE PREVIOUS RECEIPT SAID WAS REPLACED ON MY CAR WHICH WAS NOT AND THEY FIXED MY CAR THE SAME DAY. GAVE ME MY BAD PARTS BACK, WHICH IS WHAT A REPAIR SHOP IS SUPPOSED TO DO AND CHARGED ME A VERY FAIR PRICE. I WOULD RECOMMEND RIVERSIDE AUTO TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A MECHANIC TO DO AUTO REPAIRS.YOU NEED SOME MECHANIC WORK ON YOUR RIDE????CALL RIVERSIDE!!!!! THANKS GUYS =)Service: Auto maintenance

The owner of this place also owns a few other shops. At one of there other shops they caused major damage to my car.. the owner lied to me about owning the place. And they refuse to contact me about the damage done to my car. Stay away from this place at all cost. They will over charge you and do careless work.much better shops around to go to yet still the same owner...yall are trash all of his ships are trash..riverside auto in lincoln park and southgate along with Dearborn total automotive...stay away at all costs..they have multiple complaints with the state...at all these locations..they will damage your car and not communicate or even talk to ypu about the issues they caused...

Took 2 other vehicles here when purchasing, they inspected and told me nothing was wrong or needed to be fixed, they could’ve easily charged me but they were HONEST and didn’t lie. So it was an easy decision when my sons Jeep had issues. At first John said it was going to be about $3500 to fix what was wrong, another place also confirmed. John worked miracles, he called other states to find the parts we needed, he only had the Jeep for about a week, that’s how long it took to get the hard to find parts during Covid. Best news ever was when he told my son it was only $1100 to fix, parts, labor and all… I CANNOT thank this company enough. I will never go anywhere else, they’ve always been so honest and good to us. Thank you John and staff.

So it was an easy decision when my sons Jeep had issues. At first John said it was going to be about $3500 to fix what was wrong, another place also confirmed. Very honest and trustworthy auto shop.I needed a muffler for an older vehicle and after calling around town, I decided on coming here.So happy I did. He explained what I needed and got the job done in 2 hours and at a much lower price than I expected. . Super nice man at the front counter. I highly recommend these guys. Had a great experience here, they refilled my air conditioning fix one of my blowers last week, then this week they fixed the problem that has been plaguing me for almost 2 years. Time will tell if the fix holds up, but so far so good. They're also the only ones who got the problem to go away for any amount of time really, prices are great too and they're very friendly.

Went to get my brakes done and they call me back with the estimate. They wanted$700 bucks for BRAKES. Brakes shouldn't cost more than like $300. Around there anyways. I've had multiple brake jobs done. Some with bad calipers and rotorsi feel like that's just taking advantage of people.. and it still wasn't that much. Charged me 50 bucks just to take a peek.
