My wife is from south of Detroit. We were in town over the weekend and had dinner here with family. With my love for Central European cuisine and the high recommendations, there was no way I could pass this place up. My aim was to sample as much as I could ... and mission accomplished. The appetizers included the Hortobagyi Palicsinta and paprikas chicken wings. The sauce used on the Hortobagyi was thick and delicious. To continue with my mission, I obviously opted for the Hungarian combination plate (bring on the paprikas sauce ... amazing ) as my main course. Everything came out hot, fresh and cooked with love. I also ordered a cup of the Hungarian Goulash. There are many versions of Goulash recipes that derive from Central Europe and that I've had the pleasure to sample, both here in the US AND across the pond ... and this version has to rank up there with the best! The mixture of tender beef and potatoes (topped with dumplings) was stewed to perfection and was an absolute culinary delight. I somehow dug deep and was able to sample some dessert. The Kremes was the ideal cherry on top, due to its light vanilla custard and pastry dough on the top and bottom (sort of like a Napoleon). The service was great and the cozy atmosphere makes this a very welcoming place, especially during the Michigan winters. Shout out to the owner for coming by on multiple occasions to check on us. We will definitely be back next time we are in town for more cuisine, and more Apricot Palinka Cocktails .

Top notch ambiance and service. I wish the steamed veggies were not from frozen, but overall a cozy experience.

Went here today for Easter dinner with a large party, service was horrible, as she presented the check, she told us to itemize the bill "after telling her ats soon as we were seated who is with who" Food was out right DUSGUSTING with raw meat inside stuffed cabbage that ruined every one if our appetites!! Then we were all told with family style that we have to order the same 2 meats (1w people mind you) with different taste in meats!! The atmosphere is so cramped like sardines that an elderly lady literally fell because there was no room for her to even walk. This place has so so many senior citizens like this lady and ypu cramp them all in walkers/canes, etc. What do you think is going to happen? Just that!! What happens if there is a fire? With this place charging as much as they do for so.e gross meal, they need to do better. Hopefully I can save somebody from experiencing what we have today. We are all in disgust!!! Won't be back here for the Easter dinners, you can keep em!!!!Parking: Parking is not enough spaces for what the restraunt holds, you have to go park in front of people's homes.

Was in the banquet room. The servers were quick and in the ball. My wife likes their food. Dumplings were good. Pork chops are good.

Have been going here since I was a kid. The food never disappoints especially the Chicken paprikas and still the best dumplings I've ever had. The service is always great and it's always packed.

This downriver gem never disappoints. The atmosphere is a nice touch of the old country. The food is exquisite, just like grandma made us as children. Do your best to save room for dessert though, house made and delicious!
