The worker shut down the only self check out 15 minutes before closing as me and a few other people were walking up. Post a sign, turn the light off, or something to let customers know so we don't waste our time.

Meijer used to be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and only closes on Christmas day evening, but now they close at midnight. I do like the self checkout system, but the app can be a little spotty registering all of the sales and can't scan the clearance price tags. It's crazy because most of the time if you scan the on product price tag, it scans as the discounted price, but try to cover it with the new sticker making it harder. The rewards program has decreased in recent years. I used to get custom coupons mailed to me based on my buying habits so I save extra beyond sale prices because you can always combine discounts.
The big negative about this location for me is that the can and bottle return frequently is understaffed and in disorder. It's closed 3 hours before the store closes, and the staff doesn't take ownership of keeping this available. I've called the service that is hired to replace out the bins when they are full, and they only come once a week (and say they would come more often for free), but the managers at this location have not bothered to follow up and figure out why they don't currently and what it would take. The company says that the bins are often half full and don't have them packed down by hand when they start to get to the top.
Last time I was there, there was broken glass next to my car, and many of the carts have wobbly and stuck wheels. ?

Bought mini brands books only to find out they had already been opened, taped back up and sold like new. Dirty workers I guess
