I had a dreadful experience with Dewitt Construction. After paying a $4,593 deposit in early March 2024, the roofing project, which was supposed to be completed in early April, was repeatedly delayed. They attempted to change the agreed price, and the owner was extremely rude. When I expressed my desire to cancel after the job had been postponed again today, due to income loss as I'm unable to rent out the property with the roofing problem, the owner threatened me with legal action. This company is unreliable, unprofessional, and fails to honor their contracts. Avoid Dewitt Building & Construction at all costs.

Scam company. Will rip you off, high pressure sell you, try anything they can to get your money and run.*Response to owner Response* I have a great relationship with all my previous employers. I chose to leave Dewitt due to not being paid, fear of building a bad reputation, and not wanting to be part of harming the local community with bad and dishonest work. It hurt my family to not be paid on months of work while finding a better, honest company. Whichever social media manager reads this hired by Alex Hasan and Marc Wermuth I would advise you to take a closer look at the orders and how they are being handled. You can't Gas light everyone's experience.

Horrible experience.Will never deal with this company.On fri 2/28/24, they were scheduled to come for gutters job, never showed up, never called, when I called them, I was informed that they cancelled the appt and was told that they don't need to inform me of a cancelation or the reason behind the cancel, that they do the scheduling and have the final word on appointments not me, I informed him that I hired him, I can and will fire him which I did once he started yelling at me over the phone.

This was my 1st project with DeWitt. The workers arrived early and were prepared for the job. A little clarification was needed as to where the insulation was going to go, but after a quick pone call to the office it was straightened out. The workers were efficient and cleaned up well before leaving. I will consider using DeWitt for future home projects.

This company is a sham!! They never pulled the permit for the job! The first quote they gave me was not honored, and Vincent P. told me they would not have done the job for the quote their salesperson gave me. Fast forward, I agreed to pay more for a lesser position, which took months before it started. I hate the roof color he picked out, and the roof has water pouring in a spot that was not leaking before the roof job, causing more damage to the home! They hounded me for the balance with the roof leaking and never came to see the job they subcontracted. Buyer beware

The is the most unprofessional business I have ever delta with. They came out to my home for an estimate and said they would send me a written estimate the next day. I never received it. When I called to inquire about the estimate they told me that they could not provide it because my husband wasn't present! I told him this was my home prior to my marriage. He started YELLING and said he didn't care and they don't give estimates if husband isn't present .

I needed my basement to be finished Dewitt building and construction in ********** made that happen I needed financing **** and **** helped me with a budget that was affordable but let me tell you about the contractor **** when I tell you they sent the best guy for the job awesome cannot describe the work he did I absolutely love the end results. Beautiful thank you too DeWitt for everything I highly recommend that you use this company You can't go wrong

Worst company ever, they lie over and over again never compete their work they talk down on woman, acting like women don't what they talking about. Poor customer service, they tell you that you're getting a great deal. And then come back you telling you that they are not making a money on your job that they quoted and go somewhere else. Clearly they did not intend to work with me in the first place. After waiting 3 months telling us the job will be done they brought wrong colors it sat on my lawn for over a month, killing my grass. Then they told me that's not their problem. And go some where else.

FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERSwe gave this company over $3000 in July to replace our windows, they told us 2-3 weeks, as of today 10/23/23 no windows, they promised to come install 3 times but NO SHOW and when called them they hangup on me,Finally i called them last week and a the same guy i spoke to in the past answered but told me he is the cleaning crew and no on is in the office (11:45AM).I need my $$ Back in FULLJust in case they reply they don't recognize my name I am in Sterling Height MI

Mike Jones did my grandmother Shirley’s gutters in July. He was very professional and did a very good job. We need more workers like Mike. She has gotten a lot of comments on how her gutters look. Thanks so much Mike for assisting in making my home look better. -Shirley Rucker

No I do not recommend this company. I wanted the floor of my front porch replaced with new wood. I received cement-ok it was their mistake, not pleased but what am I going to do. The big issue is the support columns and railings-they took them down and said they were not suitable to reuse. (I did discuss that with my salesperson who said they did not need to be replaced, so I decided to keep them). I received no assistance with getting new railings and columns. They said several times that they gave my information to their contacts or subcontractor to call me but to date I have not received a call. I am left on my own to find a company to make and install the new railings. I am sure will take another month to get that job completed. In the meantime, the old railings are still in my yard and wood beams are holding my porch up.

DO NOT USE DEWITT BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION!! DeWitt Building and Construction is absolutely horrible. They use contractors for projects, which isn’t mentioned upfront. Contractors show up when they want to and DeWitt doesn’t even know what they’re doing. I had to call on 3 separate occasions to figure out when they were supposed to show up and DeWitt thought they were there. The guys that did my roof were quick but messy. They left cigarettes butts everywhere. They also were tasked to reframe my porch post. They did a half poor job. It looked worse than the original wood. I had to go back and seal it myself even though I provided the sealer to them.As for my windows, they had a 3 man crew that showed up whenever they wanted to. The older gentleman was the most knowledgeable and was teaching the other 2 along the way. My house should not have been used for this as they had 45 windows to replace. Needless to say it took them 4 months to complete the job. When I called DeWitt about a broken window all I got was the runaround. Until this day, a year later, I still have a broken window that they have yet to replace. Their system is so outdated they call me at least once a month to schedule my project not realizing it was completed a year ago. I laugh at them and their system and then mention my broken window and it gets nowhere. Alex Jim Kevin and Vincent are all absolutely horrible. When representative came out for a Quote , I asked about how long before they could get my windows done, he stated they were about two weeks out, I stated good so I decided to put a deposit down based on that information. Well it took more than two weeks it has been at least 8 weeks & no windows. So a representative called on 8/3/23 to set up installation for the 8th At 2:00 pm, I stated I get home about 2:30 so he stated he would let installers know that I would be home around 2:30 no later than 3:00 which was fine. Well no installers came but did call around 3:15 and said they were not coming because they were short of people working and job took longer than expected and that they will call to set up for rescheduling. So I thinking someone would call the next day and apologize and get me right in. Well it is 7 days later still have not heard from them so I called them to cancel This is unacceptable to me when I am spending my money the at least you could have done was called to apologize and reschedule right away. But to not call when we’re you going to call, I have plans I can sit around and wait until it’s convenient for you to give me a call. I’m not dealing with non communicative people.
