The dirtiest, worst service in the Detroit Metropolitan area. The front desk and the morning manager are very unprofessional and unreasonable. I bought 2 room and a cake for my 14 year old and they assumed I was going to have a party and TRIED to make me sign a bogus "no party form". They got no complaints from my stay. I had to wait 30 mins for my TV. After that o had to change rooms to our discomfort. The pool area is dirty and nasty. The customer service was horrible. Pleas seek othe hotel chains. I am a business owner of RLH SECURITY SERVICES LLC and I will never stay at southfield/Detroit Martiott. This place has horrible service. You will be very disappointed for the money you spend. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

My stayed was on June 2024
I'm very disappointed that the room were so dirty and unclean. Dust everywhere, also hair from previous guest. This is very sad to be so pricey and get less as if I were staying at a pay by hr room, like we had to move the bed a little bit to get some stuff of my boys that went under the bed and we found a lot of dirt and dust right under the bed Management needs to walk behind the housekeepers and inspect these rooms. Very disappointed think about this, also I had to to ask about a baby crib for 3 times to get it in my room phone doesn’t work at my room, definitely will never go back there.

My stay was recent June 14 recent. Someone was found unalived adjacent to our room. Prayers go out to the family. Sorry for your loss. It happened some time a little after 3:30 am. When I tell you the matter of keeping the noise level down so not to disturb the rest of the paying guest was not HANDLED correctly at all. We DID NOT GET TO GO TO BED until after 10 am and had to be at a conference at 1pm I am so upset. I reached out to 3 people and was basically told it was a death to get over it. Like I said my heart goes out to that family but the hotel could have put them in a conference room, a banquet hall to not to disturb the other guest. On top of that they charged my card twice. I speak highly of Marriott but after this weekend ABSOLUTELY not. Everyone was very nice, but I needed to get my sleep to. WE ALL MATTER.

I stayed at the Marriott Detroit Southfield in late April and, unfortunately, had a deeply disappointing experience. During my stay, I left some important property in my room, and despite promptly reporting the issue, the handling of the situation has been nothing short of frustrating.
After initially reaching out, I had to make a nearly three-hour drive back to the hotel to initiate the investigation. Since then, communication has been severely lacking. Despite repeated follow-ups and assurances that the management team would contact me, I have received no updates for weeks. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially from a brand like Marriott.
The continued lack of response and resolution has left me with no confidence in their commitment to guest satisfaction.
I would advise anyone considering staying here to be wary of their handling of guest concerns and missing property. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I will not be patronizing Marriott hotels in the future.

Was there for work rooms were clean nothing fancy. The staff was just like every hotel undertrained. Food was good nothing special.

Understaffed, under managed. Had a 12 night stay booked and changed to 2. Reception your waiting 5 minutes for someone to turn up. Breakfast takes min 1 hour turn around. Service is disgusting.

We were in town for a big volleyball tournament and everyone treated us great! Especially Kordaye who provided great service on the bar/lobby area. Even tried to teach me some line dancing!
They also had free Starbucks coffee in the am which was much appreciated!
I would recommend they add towel bars or hooks to the room though as there was no where to put your wet towels. Loved that there was a mini fridge but a small freezer in it would have been key.
