This place is a mess honestly. The students act out because nobody cares. There were lots of fights, people climbed on the tables and they’re loud and obnoxious. It’s like a zoo house in there. The teachers get mad and yell at the students when they wouldn’t understand something. One of them even called us slow. They couldn’t even teach us right. For example, in math, the teacher would write a problem, show some video and expect us to immediately get it then get mad when we didn’t.Of course, no school is perfect but they honestly could’ve done so much better. This felt like literal prison instead of school. One of the things I want to talk about is phones. Obviously we shouldn’t be using phones during class, but the rules started to get out of hand. It got to the point we couldn’t even CARRY our phone in our pockets. If they even saw a glimpse of it or even an OUTLINE, they would take it. We couldn’t even have them out during lunch.Speaking of prison, we barely even did anything fun such as activities or field trips. We only went on like, 3 field trips and that was it for the whole year. The rest of the time it was just work piled on work. I know school isn’t supposed to be fun, but people need a break once in a while. If they don’t, they’re going to get overwhelmed and stop doing their work like what happened here. They were NOT engaged. We need to have field trips and activities because it is an educational experience that helps our brain develop and learn new information, but Crescent obviously didn’t get this. At least some of the teachers were kind enough to let us relax once in a while. This school is also broke. We didn’t have any classes such as band, art or any languages. The only thing they offered was basketball, cheer and volleyball. What about the people who don’t do sports? But I guess you can’t really blame them since them funding is obviously low.I’m happy that some of the teachers know how bad Crescent is and didn’t sugarcoat anything. The school needs a lot of work and there’s no denying that. My experience at this school has been mentally draining. It’s like falling down a flight of stairs and when you finally get up, you get hit by a bus.Anyway, I don’t recommend this school. They make up crazy rules to “fix” the problems but end up making it 10x worse.Spare your kids their sanity and send them somewhere else. It’s better than Crescent.

I went to the this school from pre-k to the 6th grade I stayed for the first 4 weeks of 7th and everything was out of hand. For 6th grade I was virtual so their wasn’t any problems on that hand but as soon as I went to the 7th grade their were fights back to back in the first few weeks.Their weren’t teachers for important subjects like English and science.Students took the subs for granted and exploited them. I now go to a different school but I do still have friends there and the things they are learning a way behind from what I’m doing now.

You are doing your child a disservice by sending them here. Anywhere is better. Remember - this is a FOR PROFIT school - and this charter exemplifies everything wrong with charters. I am not a charter hater, there are some great ones out there that fill a need. This is not one of them. I was here for two weeks before I realized what a mess this place is. They do not care about education, just the bottom line.

I'm a student at crescent I don't recommend your kid going here, they will mess up your kids report cards. They will fire great teachers in the middle of the year.we were actually learning from these teachers.there superintendent is very disrespectful to their children . She will get in your child's face and clap in there face.she will get your child in trouble for know reason.they had also had many bug out breaks.they don't like your kids to have fun while learning.

Would never recommend this school to anyone. Had the worst experience with Miss Costine. Not a structured school, and poor staff.

There is not enough time or Internet for me to post my issues and problems with the school. And now my child has been gone from this school for 2 years & I'm STILL getting attendance calls!! Does this mean that they still have her on their rolls?

My son has attended Crescent Academy since Preschool. He will be entering the First Grade this fall. We moved to Eastpointe a few months ago. There is a school three short blocks from our home. I refuse to enroll him in any other school, but Crescent. It takes me 45 minutes to get my baby to school every morning. It wasn't a second thought! This school is very organized! The teachers are hands-on. Even the teachers in other classrooms know my baby's name. They take the time with each student. I try to volunteer as much as possible. I am so thankful I found a school for my son that is everything he needs.
