We made a reservation for a car in September to get a car in November. When we went to pick it up they didn't have any cars. They stated that maybe they would get one before they closed since it had been paid for. They stated that they had to cancel everybody. Nobody from Avis contacted us.

This is the only rental place I will rent from other than the airport. Charlie and his staff has always been friendly and they give great customer service. They’re always going above to help out their customers. I’ve rented cars from them for years.

Pickup and drop off was quick and smooth, staff even gave me a choice between available cars. Received a good Price through a Groupon code. Budget customer service was quick and helpful with extending the rental. Car was nice and clean, ran well and was a smooth ride for both local driving and driving back and forth out of state. Would definitely come back.

BELIEVE THE REVIEWS DONT RENT FROM HEREI booked a reservation June 15 for today called around 1015 to ask about the parking situation if I would be able to leave my car there while I use the truck for the day. I am informed that he had not only not seen my reservation. He has no trucks available. He tries telling me I must have booked it last night because he has no trucks available and this is for a an 11 AM pick up for a cargo van. Booked JUNE 15th for today JUNE 17thI'm now supposed to wait for a callback from him for a local trucks in the area. With no time estimate. I am moving TODAYHorrible customer service. What's the point of booking a reservation if nothing is available and being told that he's never heard of it. DAY OFI called the corporate customer service lineThe representative tells me that she does in fact see my reservationand she could try to work with someone to get me a truck but that could take anywhere from 15 min to 2 hours Waste of time

The location was fine, it was the airport’s miscommunication that irritated me. The car was almost 5 hours late arriving in Southfield which severely delayed my trip and made me waste a day of hotel expenses.

As a returning customer to the Southfield location, I am pleased with the service that I receive every time. This time I reserved a car at a different location and they went above and beyond to ensure I left their location with a reliable vehicle. I truly recommend the Southfield location for a great customer experience.

The vehicle type I reserved wasn’t available, and they only had one vehicle on their lot for rent. This was an emergency situation, otherwise I would’ve went elsewhere. The van I was offered was a mess. It looked as if a family of 5 took the van on a cross country excursion for a week, returned it, and was never cleaned. The windows weren’t clear, the carpet needed vacuuming, the seats, floor mats, and all the cracks and crevices were full of grime and debris. Surprisingly it didn’t smell bad… It was an absolute mess to the point of me taking 15mins in their parking lot just to wipe the touch points down with Lysol wipes. I left a more detailed review on their follow up survey, but I’m not sure if it’ll be for public view. The sales reps are nice guys, but the products they rent don’t meet basic standards. Choose another location if you’re able to, but unfortunately for me Southfield Budget was the only location with available rentals. Lastly, when I returned the van and was asked how was my experience, of course I expressed my displeasure. I was told by Carlos I should’ve notified him of the issues prior to leaving, but as I told him, he wasn’t present, I didn’t know he existed, and I had an emergency need. I wasn’t offered any discount rate, or reimbursement for my troubles, just an apology and confirmation to charge my card on file, smh. Again… Very nice guys there, but the product I received was subpar to say the least.

The hidden fees are ridiculous. You have to pay a fee for extending even though you are already paying for the extra days you need. The fuel fee is triple the price of gas. Staff don't care and don't make this known. That's besides the fact of not having the car I reserved and claiming it was an upgrade with lights on dash the whole time.
