This is the cheapest way to get your CPL certificate; there's a class every day for $80.
If you're looking to learn about guns or gun safety, this is a terrible class for you.
My experience:
I've had a CPL in other states, and I carry for work, so I've taken many firearms classes. I saw Action Impact offered both virtual and in-classroom classes. I always prefer to take classes in person; there's something to learn from every new instructor.
There were two things I wondered:
1) How could they afford to pay an instructor every day, without a caveat that classes with fewer than 6 or 8 participants would be canceled?
2) Why was the in-classroom class cheaper than the virtual class?
Well, they don't pay an instructor to teach the class. The in-classroom class is NOT an in-person class. You sit in the classroom and watch five hours of videos. There is a live person at the front of the class only three times; an employee comes in once in the morning to press play, and once at the end to give the test.
In the middle, a salesman from USCCA comes in to give a heavy-handed 45 minute sales pitch for membership. I belong to a similar organization and it's good to have the membership if you have to shoot someone. But to have a sales rep come in and act like "Okay, this is when you sign this paper and give me money," was insulting.
They can run the classes so often because there's no instructor, and it's cheaper to go to the classroom because that's where they can dig their hooks into you for a membership in the USCCA.
On to complaints about the class; ideological, then functional:
The class started at 10. The four firearms safety rules, the bedrock of a firearms class at any level, were not even mentioned until almost 4 PM... how anybody can call themselves an expert and instructor, and not start the day with the most fundamental safety rules is beyond me. These should be drilled into everyone who's going to handle a firearm.
The "instructor" is the owner, Bill Kuyck. He gives his bio; former cop, practicing attorney, opened a gun store, now has two of them. Successful businessman who's made his career around guns.
Twice he called it a "privilege" to own and carry firearms. As a former law enforcement officer, as an attorney, and as a gun store owner, he HAS to know that it's a right. By calling it a privilege, it's like he's trying to gatekeep gun ownership. It's a weird thing to say for a guy who makes his living selling guns. It almost makes you think that he believes he's the one granting you the legal ability to carry a firearm.
Now on to the technical aspect of the class:
Mr. Kuyck is an engaging speaker and probably a good teacher. However, simply recording a live class and playing it back does NOT work.
The videos were of a small class in a studio. As an engaging teacher, Mr. Kuyck would frequently ask if there were any questions. The problem was, he was a little man on a TV. If I did have a question, there was nobody to answer it!
The size of the screen, and the background of the studio were problematic. Being a CPL class, he went over the parts of a gun, types of ammunition, types of jams and misfires, etc.
Because he was a little man on a screen, and because the gun and ammunition he was demonstrating with were even smaller on the screen, it was impossible to see what he was showing.
I must note that at no time did we handle a firearm before going out onto the range and loading live ammunition. We did not so much as load our own magazines. There was zero familiarization with the guns we would shoot.
A couple of slides with diagrams were used. But, they all had blue labels and black lettering, and were impossible to read.
Overall, I was incredibly disappointed. I give it a second star because it's the cheapest way to

Though it's been years since my last visit, my experience at Action Impact Firearm and Training Center remains vivid in my memory. I recall the place being clean, with knowledgeable and helpful staff who were well-versed in all things firearms. I look forward to rekindling my visits and recommending this exceptional location to others based on my past experience. ?? #ThrowbackExperience #ImpressiveService #ActionImpactFirearm

I went to a CPL class on 3/9/24, this was my first CPL class so not a renewal. My experience was beyond horrible. The instructor that I had was Ebony Sankofa-Quilez. While teaching the class every other word out of her mouth was F**k, Mother F***er, S**t, just very foul language. We had to hear several times how she is from Mack and Bewick, trying to display that she is a tough girl very early on so we will know that she likes to "assert" herself. The students in the class weren't her homies, we were customers and professionalism would have been nice. The owner of this location is an older white guy named Bill. He is an attorney and was previously a police officer. I can't help but Wonder if this class was located in Birmingham or Bloomfield if this behavior would be allowed. The second thing is when we went to shoot. Ebony displayed no patience whatsoever. For students that may be nervous, she will make the situation 100x worse. She was yelling at the individuals in the class if we didn't pick up her 30 second lesson in the range right away. Yes, and if you go back off on her, she probably won't sign your certificate. I do understand that it is her job to keep everyone safe, however, as an instructor you do need patience and to remain calm. We didn't ask her to take this job. Then once everyone was back in the class together she took some of the sheets that we were shooting on and showed the entire class. I'm not sure what the purpose of that was other than to embarrass some of the students. She did tell us that she taught in DPS for years, I wonder what her previous school students have to say about her. From my experience, she was a horrible teacher. Towards the end of the class for the remainder of our time she said some opposite things than what Bill said in a video we watched. When some of the people in the class questioned her, she stated "you have to remember that Bill is 70 years old". This is who you have working for you Bill? I can't. At the end, she had the nerve to attach her business card to our certificates in case anyone wanted to take shooting lessons from her. No, thank you. I will spend my hard earned money with someone who has tact and professionalism. I won't be referring her or this company to anyone. Buyer beware. I have talked to others who took a CPL class at this location and their experience was a 100 times better and they were also fairly new to shooting. Obviously, they had a different instructor.
