I really enjoyed my visit to the 1902 Tap and Grill. The service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The beer cheese soup and pizza are excellent, and I look forward to enjoying them again, However, I was excited to try the Potato Rounds appetizer special, but was disappointed. They were very dry, and there was hardly any cheese on them. I actually thought they forgot the cheese, because the bacon bits and green onion toppings were not on the potatoes, rather all loose in the bottom of the basket, but there were a couple of sprinkles of cheese on the last few potatoes. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the restaurant and plan to return.
Vegetarian options: The regular menu is limited. You can get a cheese pizza, assorted appetizers, or the beer cheese soup (without the bacon garnish). However, they had an extensive list of specials on the night I was there, with more meatless appetizer choices, and both a black bean burger and vegetable lasagna mains.

I recently visited the 1902 Tap and Grill at 23 Trimountain Ave, in South Range, MI. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger with chips. The burger was cooked as instructed and w a beer it was delicious. The restaurant was very clean and I would like to have made it back there again. My server was very attentive and suggested ideas for my meal. It is located just outside of the main city of Houghton.
Parking: No issue w parking

Great food, great price, quaint little place, very friendly staff and owner was very pleasant. Homemade chips were amazing! We’re from out of state and would definitely come back to this place!!

Nice little bar and grill. Food was good. The cheese fries with widow maker beer cheese was amazing.
Parking: The have a parking lot next to the building.

My husband and I ate here for lunch, based solely on high reviews. We were not disappointed. I had the spinach salad with crispy chicken. It was delicious! It had croutons that tasted homemade, lots of bacon, chopped tomatoes and onions, and grated parmesan cheese. The dressing was wonderful too. My husband had beer battered walleye and fries. He said it was very good. Service was excellent and timely. The setting was tastefully decorated and very clean.

This place is fantastic!! My husband and I loved our meal so much, we brought our entire family back a couple of nights later for their fish fry special. Best food we’ve had in a loooooong time!! Thank you!

One of the best experiences we have had in a restaurant. The attention to detail is impressive. Fashionably decorated, well spaced tables, snazzy lighting, delicious food, well rounded menu, food presentation is top notch, cornhole on the back deck, overall excellent!!!!

We were looking for a restaurant we had never been before and stumbled across 1902 Tap & Grill. All the food was amazing from the chips to the burger to the cheese curds. Service was outstanding and food was brought out quickly. I would recommend if you are visiting a Michigan Tech student take the 10 minute drive to 1902!

I went in sat down to order,waitress brought me and my wife a drink. Ordered 2 sandwiches. Waited for close to an hour. A family of five came in behind us ordered about 10 min after us. Their food came out before ours. Waited for 5 min. Got up and the waitress saw me putting on my jacket getting ready to leave. Asked if there was something wrong, I voiced my concern and she tried about 4 different excuses, like it's a busy night, she sat us at the same time, etc. when she came over asked if I wanted to cancel my order. I told her yes. There was no apologies about how long we waited, never said "food will be out in a few minutes. No attempt to keep us to stay. I understand it being busy but when we only had two sandwiches and they had 5. Something is wrong. Weather they forgot to put the order up on time or at all. Also no talk about compensation. All I got was sorry you feel that way.. it lookwas well known we were there for our wedding anniversary as we talked about it with other customers. I don't mind waiting my turn and I don't usually leave without my meal I ordered. But you have to stand up for yourself once and a while. Maybe some day I will try again. Sorry for your loss !! I have heard good things about your restaurant but I didn't see it tonight. Sad !!
We ordered the Italian beef sandwich and a cheeseburger. Not a very difficult order. And shouldn't have taken almost an hour..
