Took my son there this past weekend for a severe allergic reaction. They treated him for seasonal allergies with a steroid shot and sent us home. I told them what he got into and they were more interested in getting us out of there and not actually helping. The nurse was super nice and helpful, as much as she could be. But that Nurse Practitioner, was a joke!! He could have easily prescribed him medication to combat the allergy, but nope. Told me to give him Zyrtec…for seasonal allergies. His face was swollen, eyes almost swollen shut. This place is a joke.

Their billing department is the worst been having trouble for a year and a half. I have Blue Cross Medical and Blue Cross Dental, both have different addresses to send billing too, not to hard to understand right, not for this billing Department they keep sending them to my dental. What does it take to get this billing department to send things to the right address!!! Nine months later this billing department can't get it right. When you have a secondary insurance they need to bill it which they don't but say they did how stupid do you think I am. Then you call and wait for a call back and then dont get one shame on you, never go to this hospital they are a joke!!!

I wish I could leave this facility 0 stars but I will leave it 1 star. I don't remember what day it was this last summer in June or July I came to this facility and had infected finger and service was done. I received one billing statement and I started paying on it and I haven't received single statement at all after the first one. I have called several different times multiple different days and times for statements and they keep saying what they want to say. But I have called 2 times today and asked a person and all he could do is give me a bunch of lies that it's been delivered to my address. Nope nothing has been delivered to my mailbox from Sheridan community hospital.

I'd have to say I'm on the fence over this place! Last October, they were great when i had to be admitted due to an allergic reaction from medicine that a dr. Gave me!In May of 2022, I visited the ER on a Saturday asking if they would give me a covid test, and they said they only did that on the week days?My husband and I wondered if Covid only existed on the weekdays??? Wasn't too happy with that, and neither was my husband!!So i guess it's a 50/50 shot there.Update/ 2/1/23- So I went to the walk-in clinic and was seen by a nice older dr. He was very helpful and listened to all my concerns and sent me home with a prescription for a nasty cough. The visit was short and efficient. Plus, the nurse that was there was very sweet and nice!! I'm just hoping I only get billed for the walk-in and not the ER ??

The main reason for giving them 4 stars is for the registration department being under staffed and I’ve had some issues with the billing department. Both of these areas do need work however, those are white collar upper management defaults!I’ve been in the ER quite a few times for simply an Urgent Care visit. They have always billed my Ins. For an Urgent care visit not an emergency visit. They are well know for their efficiency in that respect. I was in for a round of antibiotics each time. The nurses and doctors were respectful and professional each and every time taking in to consideration all my allergies. The last few years I’ve utilized this hospital for out-patient neck and back pain injections 4-5 times a year with Dr. Clark. Granted it’s an older facility with mostly 3X hospital gowns and they do contractually out-source Doctors and specialists for out-patient surgeries on site! I’ve never met a single staff or volunteer that hasn’t been kind, considerate or caring. The pre-op and post-op staff are light hearted and very helpful!! It’s a joy going there for the whole process of maintaining my pain relief. I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Clark and the staff that assists him @Sheridan Community Hospital.

While on vacation last September (2021), I was notified by my friend who dropped me off at the airport, that she tested positive for Covid. Trying to be a responsible travler, I immediately started calling local testing sites, Sheridan Community Hospital was the closest. We arrived at the hospital, I was advised that testing was in the parking lot. I was asked several questions including my health insurance provider. Several days later I got the all clear I flew back to Colorado. Now fast-forward to July, 2022, I received a bill for $35.00, for which was the remaining balance due after my insurance paid their portion of the Covid test. I was not very happy so I called the billing dept. I spoke to lady and was in formed that if I didn't have insurance it would have been covered under Covid funding. I asked why did it take 10 months to receive an invoice? I was told they sent me a statement in April, 2022. She apologized for the delay but they have had billing issues. I called my insurance company regarding the bill. I was informed that they charge $50.00 for test handling out of the office! The bill is currently in dispute.

If I could put zero I would people were nice and all but the fact that I had to go to different hospital Just to find out what was wrong with me and they immediately hospitalized me yet sheriden sent me home three times saying nothing major was wrong. P.S I had a gal stone stuck in my tube that connected to my liver and my gal bladder had to be removed cuz it was in bad shape and now couple months later after having insurance take care of bills I get another one that is way to expensive for no reason

I came in with Covid symptoms after my was diagnosed with it. I couldn't get in to see my Dr so I chose the ER. Where else would you go when you're sick and can't see your Dr. Well then I got reprimanded by the Dr here because I came in to the ER sick. "You don't need to be coming here and bringing that here. There isn't anything for it you just let it run its course." Okay...so what should I have done. I work so I need a Dr note if I miss work. To top it off they didn't even do.a Covid test. Just here's something for the puking and a steroid. Great service and clearly they really give. Ashit.

I transferred my Dad to SCH for sub-acute rehab, post-COVID. I made this decision after being assured that my Father would receive 2 hours per day of therapy (1 hour Physical, 1 hour Occupational). I'm saddened to say that communication was spotty at best. The first patient update I received as my Dad's patient advocate was 2 weeks after he had been there. They didn't even call me when they moved him to a different room. I did not talk to one nurse that wasn't short on info or charm. I can only hope my Dad didn't feel the same. Oh yeah, that 2 hours per day therapy was actually 1 hour per day of Occupational therapy (5 days/week) and 30 minutes per day of Physical therapy (3 days per week). I called my Dad and was told that on more than one occasion, he was denied permission for more walking/therapy. The reason? "Because we don't have time." When I called the therapist about that she said "We have to meet the patients where they are." Now being in the medical field for the last 25 years, I understand that. However, when my Father wanted to work harder at his physical therapy and he was not allowed, that is NOT meeting the patient where they are. In fact, that is being surpassed by the patient's work and motivation to get well. My Dad was trying to sneek out of bed in his room to do squats and walk to strengthen himself because of the sub-sub-acute rehab he was receiving (not a typo). When they would catch him out of bed, they insisted he get back in bed. Remember, he was transferred from another hospital where he was battling COVID. He was in bed for a month. There he was fighting to avoid being put on the vent. So now that the vent was behind him, he was facing muscle atrophy and possibly the wheelchair from being in bed for a month. But the nurses and therapists at SCH (where he was supposed to be rehabilitaing) kept telling him he needed to get back in bed. When I spoke with my Dad and Mom, we agreed that he could/would receive the benefits from his motivation/hard work at home, rather than at Sheridan Community Hospital. When I called the care manager to discuss my Dad's wishes for discharge, I was told that I had to have a conference call with the doctor and the therapist. She put me on hold, transferred me to a mobile phone and explained her complaints to the doctor. There was no conference call. There was no patient advocacy. In fact, after the doctor coached (strong-armed) my Father into giving me their talking points (without any knowledge of what he was saying) prior to getting on the phone with me, the doctor, filibustered me, told me she knew what was best for my Dan and then hung up. In spite of the flowery promises (lies) of a better Sheridan Community Hospital under new management and exciting new health offerings, it seems that the title of 'hospital of bumps/bruises' seems to remain in consistent standing since my childhood. I would add, that I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Sheridan Community Hospital. I really wanted to trust them and keep Dad's care local, but it is what it is. I guess I should have paid better attention, because two months ago when he was transported via ambulance, the hospital who didn't have the capability to handle his intial COVID case was Sheridan Community Hospital. I guess that's on me for transferring him back there. Lesson learned. *(I thought long and hard about naming names here, but eventually decided against it. This review is ONLY referring to those involved in my Father's care that dropped the ball, and is in no way directed at those who most likely are good caregivers who have the terrible misfortune of working for SCH. Hopefully, they see what I saw and leave, and not become part of the problem.)

THE WORST HOSPITAL IN THE WORLD!!! They will literally let you die in the waiting room… I was going septic had a fever of 104 was drenched in sweat and about to pass out and it took them atleast 30 mins to get me back into a room and they nurses there are very judgmental could literally hear them gossiping and making fun of the patients from my room!!! Very unprofessional and uncaring place -10000/10 don’t recommend 0 stars I had to put one but if I could I would put negative stars!!

Great small town hospital. Caring staff. Beats driving all the way to Grand Rapids or Saginaw. They enable you to stay close to your family and still receive quality care. Highly recommended.They are adding a lot of new services to enable people to stay in their community

My father accompanied my mother in and the lady at the door rudely told them that there couldn't be any visitors due to covid. This is no surprise but in this case my mother spoke zero English and when my father told the lady this information she didn't care and told him to leave. My mom said she tried asking the lady if anyone spoke Spanish and she was told no in a very bitter/rude tone. How to you expect a patient to express their reason to be there if they can't get the help they need ?

This is the worst hospital to speak to anyone in their billing department. The receptionist tells me they only have one person that handles billing. How is this possible for a hospital. When they want their money for bills we are expected to pay asap so when its their responsibility to refund a patient its taken 75 days thus far. And I still have NOT got a call back in the past 3weeks of me calling. Unless ur dying I wouldnt suggest this hospital to anyone.really bc the lady called to say theyd have my check at the front desk n now they cant find out as im about to travel over an hr away. This is ridiculous
