I’ve had several frustrating experiences at this Meijer, particularly with the service desk and Western Union services. The staff frequently claim the service is down or that there’s not enough money in the register to complete transactions. On one occasion, I was told there wasn’t enough cash available for my transaction, but after requesting a supervisor, she checked the register and found there was actually more than enough money. It gave the impression that the employees simply didn’t want to deal with the added responsibility.
In addition, the meat quality at this location is consistently poor, which adds to the overall disappointment.
If there are genuine issues with Western Union or other services, clearer communication and better management would go a long way. Customers rely on these services, and it’s frustrating when they’re not provided reliably.
Update to My Review – [7-2-2025]
I went to the store again to give it a try, hoping maybe things had changed. I was already in the lane when the front desk employee asked how she could help me. I told her I was there to receive a Western Union transfer. She immediately responded, just like the last employee did, that there wasn’t enough money in the register drawer.
I asked to speak with a supervisor, and instead of handling the situation professionally, she started complaining that it was 7:45 PM and close to closing time. Then she claimed the system was down.
As a customer, it’s frustrating and disappointing to face the same issue multiple times. It feels like there’s always some excuse when someone tries to use Western Union at this location.

I had the best experience with Meijer gardening department. I just had to ask the young man his name who was so knowledgeable and helpful. His name is Fenn I believe. That day I bought flower pots and several hanging flowers. The center was well taken care of and easy to pick out what you want to buy. I really enjoyed that garden center. My husnand and I are going there again for fall flowers.

People consistently are checking out using scanning items on the Shop & Scan machines. Talked to manager. They need to advise people not to do this. There has to be at least a clear poster on the floor level that these machines are ONLY for shopping with the Meijer App on their phones. Ultimately, scanning without reading the checking out QR code should be not allowed. Nothing is done! I am not shopping here any longer unless the store manager has been fired. Also filing complaint to their corporate.
