I am not 100% familiar with the nuances of what someone needs a Costco membership for - I know you need one to purchase items from the warehouse area, but I know you can use the pharmacy without a membership. I was under the impression that you could use the tire center without a membership but I was wrong (my bad).
I went to Costco last night around 7:30pm to get my tire repaired (unexpected nail). They said it was too late (I completely understood and knew I would have been lucky to get it repaired at that time). I made an appointment to return at 11:45am today. When I got there, the man behind the counter asked for my membership and I told him I didn’t have one because I didn’t know that membership was required for the tire center. In a totally snarky tone he said “you got to be kidding me” and looked at me like I was total idiot.
No sir - my mistake was sincere and I didn’t need the rude response. A simple “Unfortunately you need a membership for the tire center” would have sufficed. I had no expectation that you would accommodate me or bend the membership rules for me. I was not being loud or rude - I simply didn’t know a membership was required for the tire center.
Costco - if you have team members who can not keep their sarcastic remarks to themselves, consider putting them in positions that are NOT customer facing. This person should have been in the bay repairing tires, not at the service desk representing your brand. BTW - the woman who helped me last night was great - helpful, kind, and friendly. She was the reason I made an appointment to come back today when they couldn’t fit me in last night.
Ended up at a Discount Tire where they fixed my tire for free and I grabbed some new wiper blades. Honestly, I just appreciated the fact that the guys at this tire place didn’t give me attitude for trying to get my tire fixed.
So now you know if you didn’t. Tire center requires a membership (it’s not like the pharmacy or alcohol sales). There is a guy who works there whose attitude isn’t a great fit for the service counter - would hate to have seen how he handled the situation if I had been a confrontational customer. There is a woman there who is real nice - hopefully if you go, you get her.
There are tons to tire spots in MI (have you seen the roads?!?!) if a spot has employees who can’t return the polite energy you are giving them, spend your money elsewhere. You might even find a spot that does free nail repair! Costco charges $10.99.

Lazy unprofessional understaffed trying to charge you for things you did ask for said they could not find my wheel lock while it was right where it's supposed to be I'm sure they've done hundreds of Toyota Camrys then they didn't bother to put it back where it belongs and they didn't bother to fill the tires the same I have three different tire readings

We went in for a flat tire and were very worried since it was around 7:30 PM and no other shop would fix it until tomorrow. Costco took us in that night AND they were able to fix it in less than 30 minutes. Thank you to Dylan and the rest of the Costco team for helping us out on a rough day and doing an amazing job! If I could give 6 stars I would, great job!

Highly recommend Costco Tire Dept in Shelby! I recently had a flat tire from a nail, noticed it after 7 pm. I needed to be on the road early the next morning so I couldn't wait until the next day to get it repaired . All the local tire shops were closed except Costco. The technicians Terrin, Chris, Ethan and Jesse were courteous, prompt and professional.

Busy, busy, BUSY... but I still manage to get my needs there for the most part. Not a fan of the self service checkout-- that's the one thing I would change. When you need help, they are incredibly slow to respond.

Price was good for new tires. Had to wait about 10 or 15 munss to check in for install. Told me they would call me when completed and that it would be about an hour or so. I decided towalked around in store and after 2 hrs. I checked the service bay and the car was done. Asked the rep if it was ready and he said yes but forgot to call. Same guy was talking to someone else in line and said you can get same tires for around the same price but costco warranty is better. I would give better rating if not waiting double the time.

Not sure the guys name he was young longer hair, but he showed me nothing was wrong with my rim after the dealership tried to charge me $1600. Took the tire back to the dealership and they fixed it for free after telling them what the Costco guy told me. Tire was covered under warranty, and the dealership tried to say there was a dent which there wasn’t. thanks Costco for being honest

It's just a very unpleasant place to shop. The parking lot is always chaotic and difficult to navigate. The customers are rude, pushing themselves in front of you in the aisles without any concern. No labeling of where items are, you are left to figure it out on your own. I never found any of the "deals" here to be all that great. I was happy when my membership ended.

Guys were awesome. I showed up late thinking my appointment was at 10:30 when it was actually 10:00 and they could've told me to sit stuff it but they were super cool and understanding.

I have been a Costco fan for 20 years. I really like the company's values. Over the last 11 years, I've always gotten my tire work done at this Costco and had very good service. Unfortunately, this last time, my daughter took our van to Costco to have the tires rotated and balanced, and they did something to cause the car to not drive properly. Both the steering / wobbling or vibration of the steering wheel and the brakes are no longer working properly. They say they can't find anything, however it was driving 100% fine before we took it in and immediately after was rumbling and not braking properly. They refuse to fix it claiming they are only tire guys. Now we have to take it to another shop, pay for the damages they caused. I will never take a vehicle back to this Service Center to be worked on. It's a shame that they have allowed their service people to become this inept. I can see from other reviews, this seems to be a trend.
