The place is beautiful, but there are A LOT of rules so read your contract. My best friend got married here and I read emails between the two of them. The owner’s tone in the email never matched how she was in person. The tone in her emails was rude, but she never had that energy in person.I did go with my best friend to view the venue and she seemed pushy. “Well usually people do this/that” is what I kept hearing. If you choose to have alcohol, you have to choose from their vendors, which may be pricy if you’re on a budget. Essentially, your guests will get about 2-3 glasses of wine. My best friend and her now husband changed their minds on alcohol. The owner constantly reminded them, even after expressing understanding, that things would be shut down if alcohol was found and were told the owner has the right to check bags (no bags were checked that I am aware of). The owner continued to mention what has happened in the past with previous customers, again after expressing understanding. They made it very clear no alcohol would be on the premises and she continued to tell them “well in the past…”. Alcohol also cannot be in the food.We were only allowed one hour for rehearsal. This was a first for me. Every venue I have been to has not given a time limit on wedding rehearsals. So, we rushed through it.Also, Canopeum dish vendor is banned at her venue. From what we were told, Canopeum didn’t clear dishes at a previous event fast enough for the owner and now they’re banned. So your dishes cannot be from there. We had an incident where the caterer mentioned the owner asked him about clearing dishes and told him they needed to be cleared now. Somehow, that turned into the guests clearing their own dishes, which we did not want. We planned to do that ourselves at the end. When we noticed what the guests were doing, me and a bridesmaid spoke with the owner who denied ever telling the caterer that dishes needed to be cleared now. I accepted what she said then but honestly, it’s ironic that canopeum had the same experience and the caterer at my best friends wedding was told dishes needed to be cleared now. So, I’m not sure she was being honest. Maybe she was. I don’t know.Another thing they are strict about is the type of music being played. The music cannot have cursing because they don’t want their kids to hear it.The owner often made her way around I guess to make sure no rules were being broken. So much so that the photographer had to ask her to move because she was in our picture. The only reason I am giving this two stars is because the venue looks nice, they cleaned the bathrooms like they said they would (they were gross at rehearsal but clean at the wedding), and they were relatively pleasant the day of. My best friend and her husband thought about not using this venue but had already given a deposit. They were told they would only get their full deposit back if someone else reserved an event for that same day. I assume to cover the loss. So they decided to stay with this venue. Me personally, I would have never gone here with all the hassle and stress it created. So, if you don’t listen to or want music with cursing, don’t want alcohol, don’t mind constantly being reminded what you can’t do along with what has happened in the past, and don’t mind your rehearsal being short, you should be okay.

The Blodgett Wedding Barn was absolutely beautiful. Our nephew had his wedding there today. The old time truck, wooden wagon and apple trees gave great photo ops. There were several other areas that were photo friendly as well.

We just held our 50th Anniversary celebration at the Blodgett Wedding Barn. It was AMAZING! The barn is 3 sided, with an overhang roof on the 4th side. This is absolutely perfect for an indoor/outdoor flow regardless of the weather. The barn is clean, the tables/chairs are very cool, and the other furnishings lend charm and great places for comfortable conversation. The barn has updated kitchen and bathrooms which are a real plus. Other than being a perfect venue, the Blodgetts are wonderful to work with. They have suggestions and can walk you through various scenarios. I can't tell you how many people asked where we found this gem of a venue. We had 100 people; the barn can hold up to 200. We had plenty of room to dance, mingle, etc., and took advantage of the grounds also. It was absolutely perfect and I can't recommend highly enough.

Smaller reception area, updated areas for wedding party assembly, entire building seems well maintained and taken care of.Not as big as similar venues.More up to date and better appearance than similar venues.
