Hampton INN is very nicely kept hotel. Before COVID, I 'd have given them a 4. 4 because, we were leaving early before kitchenette opened and we wanted to grab and go a cold bagel that was already sitting there and they said no, I needed to wait for it to open. ? I mean, I should have just grabbed it and walked away! For so highly rated a hotel, I'd expect a little bending of such a minor "rule." So poor now because despite advertising COVID protocols, none of the staff had masks or a plexi shield at the front desk. So, do they even DO any COVID remediation? I didn't see any. When I pay top dollar, I expect top service not grumpy unhelpfulness.

Rooms: I stayed at this hotel in late 2022 for $140 a night. I stayed again in February of 2024 and the room cost was nearly double. In my most recent stay, despite the cost increase, the shower had paint chips in the tub, floor and ceiling from a poor refinishing job. There were 2 carpet tiles in the living room that were no longer glued down and were sticking up. My tv remote would not control the tv and when asked for a replacement remote, this also did not fix the problem.

Reservation had my name incorrectly and despite contacting them 2-3 times with the managers it didn't get addressed. had to call hilton headquater to fix their software upgrade glitch.Otherwise overnight staff 2 of them are very nice.rooms are big and spacious but dark.

I was happy with this hotel and my stay. It was all around clean, the room was nice, updated and comfortable. The continental breakfast was great and always ready on time or a bit earlier. The hotel was quiet for the week. I checked in on a Saturday and it was quite full for the rest of the weekend and I didn't have any issues with noise. The staff was always helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay again.

Loved everything about this hotel. We were first greeted by Brenda. She was so friendly and entertaining. We really lucked out in the room she gave us. It was conveniently located right across from the elevator. The bathroom was very large and a large walk in shower. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Did not use but the pool and whirlpool were a good size and I was sorry I did not bring a bathing suit. The exercise room was well equipped. The breakfast was with the typical items and was kept well stocked by staff. We got a super good rate but acknowledge it was probably due to being off peak. Regardless I would stay here again the next time we take s trip to Sauté St Marie.

There was a woman and child in the lobby at all hours of the day and evening. The woman posted up in a chair with a blanket, a walker, an abundance of food and items around her. The child in a nightgown was running around with breakfast employee playing while people are trying eat and watch the news or just relax. They appeared to be known by the employees as a few were engaged with them in a personal way. It was very awkward and odd for someone to appear to live in the lobby and have such interactions with employees. Not a good look for customers wanting to use the lobby and breakfast area. Ruined my zen morning time each day.

This is one of the best Hampton Inns. They are not all the same.From booking to check in to check out, everything is perfect. My special request to Shane to have the top floor, close to the elevators was gladly granted.Upon check in, Brenda was so welcoming and accommodating. She also helped us with guidance to the Great Lake Superior with map and tips to make our visit more enjoyable. Gave us helpful information for the attractions in the area.Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable. We were well rested. In the morning, Ethan and Shane were there to greet us and breakfast was very good.Brenda, Shane, and Ethan gave us excellent service. They made us feel valued guests and appreciated our business. I only wish that all Hampton Inns are like this one. We will definitely come back and stay at this property again.Nearby activities: The Great Lake Superior, state park, shipwreck museum, beach, waterfalls.

This hotel is excellent. Our room was perfectly clean and welcoming. We did the online check-in and the front desk staff were ready for us.The hotel is well taken care of and breakfast had so much to choose from. We appreciated how clean and tidy the area was!We WILL be back!Rooms: Our room was expertly prepared and so clean. That’s important to us. It was so simple and easy to check in. A great stay.

All employees very friendly. Front desk very helpful. Very clean room and public areas. Nice clean pool and huge clean hot tub. Same complaint: lighting in room is dull. 4 lamps is nice but all dim. Not near the Locks but near airport and restaurants within a few miles.Rooms: Clean and not cramped.Nearby activities: Locks and downtown abot 10 minute easy drive.

We loved our stay here. It was quiet which was nice. They have a pool with a hot tub with a handicap attachment which I loved seeing for families that may need this. The beds we’re comfortable and our room was very clean. We will stay here next time we are in the area.The only downfall which wasn’t huge, the sliding barn door for the bathroom. It looks appealing to the eye, but there is much less privacy for everyone when they use the restroom. It’s not a dealbreaker, but just not my favorite.

I would not recommend the Hampton Inn hotel in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. My parents and I drove 12 hours from Ohio to arrive at the hotel, only to be told that our reservation had been canceled. The front desk employee told us that the manager had informed him that our credit card transaction had not gone through, and that they had not been able to reach us by phone because they did not have my mom's cell phone number on file. We were given no warning that our reservation was in jeopardy, and we were not offered any alternative accommodations.This was a very stressful and upsetting experience, especially for my mother, who is 65 years old and has health problems. She was very disappointed that she had to spend the night in the car, and she was worried about the impact this would have on her health.I understand that mistakes happen, but I believe that the Hampton Inn hotel could have handled this situation much better. They should have called us as soon as they realized that our credit card transaction had not gone through. They should also have made sure to have my mom's cell phone number on file, so that they could have reached her if there was a problem with our reservation.I am very disappointed with the service that we received from the Hampton Inn hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will not be staying there again.

The staff was excellent. We had a medical emergency while staying there and the staff was very helpful accommodating our needs. Rooms clean. Breakfast good. Would stay there again.
