Very nice staff. Virginia in the breakfast room is a delight. The lake is beautiful, just across the road.

Large room with a balcony facing the lake. The room had a kitchenette with cabinets, a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The bathroom has Ivory products (hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion). The room was clean and slightly updated. They serve a hot breakfast with oatmeal, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cinnamon rolls plus coffee, juice, milk, cereal, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, toast, bagels and muffins.

Date of visit Saturday nov 19thWherever possible, Holiday Inn Express is always our first choice to stay when we are on a roguetrip. The consistency in quality of stay just cannot be beaten. You always know what you will get when you book with HIEx, and the one in St joseph, Michigan is certainly no exception. The rooms are always spacious, clean, and comfortable. The beds offer a good nights sleep, with great pillows in both soft & firm options, as well as quality linens. The bathrooms are big, bright, clean, and plenty of good towels. the shower is high up so wven tall people can shower comfortably (1 of us is 6'4" so this is an important feature. There was a fitness centre with good equipment - weights, treadmill, rower, and a pool. The breakfast is always fantastic- omeletts, eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, yogurts, cereals, fruits, coffee, tea, juices, pancakes, wafgles, and more- not to mention hot cinnamon buns. The front desk staff are friendly, and efficient- check in and check out were a breeze. We love staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels because after a long day of driving on our roguetrips, and stopping to do many activities, it is always nice to have a comfy place to stay and get a good nights sleep & a nice breakfast to start the day.

I struggled with giving them 3 starts or 4 stars, as there was both good and bad in our stay. First the bad, the HVAC unit in our room didn't work so we were given another room. In that second room the coffee maker did not work, the shower curtain pole was coming out of the wall and hanging down a few inches, and the toilet barely flushed. Now the good, the breakfast was very good, the lady making and restocking the buffet was amazing. Very personable and friendly. The hotel was clean. Also, the location (right on Lake Michigan) can't be beat. Close to downtown St. Joseph. The front desk was very nice and pleasant also. I think they need to do a better job on the maintenance side of things (checking rooms periodically, preventive maintenance, etc.) and the cleaning staff checking more things in the room and communicating with the maintenance staff on any issues. If they can get that fixed, then I would rate them a solid 4 stars.

Real nice spot to watch the polar vortex take over…. Fella working the front desk was one of the nicest fellas working the front desk I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Room was super quiet, clean and comfortable. My only gripe is that they’d build this hotel and not put jacuzzi tubs in the lake view rooms. Who was the knucklehead that missed that? Can’t take a star for that, but someone slipped up.

The room needed updating. The manger was not accommodating even though the hotel was almost empty. Location is excellent!Rooms: In the online photos some were updated and others were not. Ours definitely was not.Nearby activities: Three hotel is close to shops, restaurants and the beachWalkability: It did not seem very walkable

This was a nice stop. We got a king room with balcony and lake view. The hit tub was nice and hot. It felt so good. The room was clean and comfortable and the Breakfast was very good. The best part was the customer service. MJ (Michael) went above and beyond to help us. Good Customer service isn’t very common anymore so we really appreciated his help. Thank you again Michael. ?

Right next to Lake Michigan. Was so wonderful waking up to the view of the lake and then taking a 4 min walk to Lake Michigan. Best hotel I’ve stayed at on this vacation. I love the staff and the hotel. Worth the extra money to experience a sunset like that. 4 minutes and just stand in awe and all your stress melts away beholding such a wonder. Love love loved this place will be back. Also amazing bed. Very clean room and very romantic and relaxing place to stay.
