After asking for help in the matter, Avis kindly waived the fee in recognition of my 30+ years of loyal business. And I have promised to be more careful. “Just picked up my rental from this Budget location and couldn't be more pleased with the experience, despite a minor hiccup. The woman attending the desk was pleasant and helpful, and is the reason for my positive review. The first car I was assigned smelled like smoke so I requested to switch. She checked the car, confirmed the smell, and obliged my request right away. It was certainly an opportunity for customer service to succeed or fail and I was very grateful to have encountered great customer service!”
