I literally just called and talked to a lady, she's refusing us a room because we have an autistic 3 year child! Telling me that it's not suitable. Sounds to me like she doesn't like small children or is discriminating because he's is autistic. How disgusting. My husband and I will gladly take own money some place else.

A great short/long term housing option in the area. They are always booked up by local corporate rentals, good customer service and lovely spot by the water.

I stayed at Burkemo apartments for approximately five months and loved every minute of my stay! The apartments are well kept, management was very helpful/friendly and the view of the river is just incredible. It’s a true gem! I wish I could have stayed longer ☺️

I stayed at the Burkemo apartments from April 2017-June 2017 while I was in town on business. The apartments had been recently remodeled and were very clean and spacious. It was very nice having a full kitchen so I didn’t have to eat out if I chose not to. The apartment also had a nice size living area that included a dining table. Extremely nice and comfortable. The river is also a nice feature and they have a dock that you can utilize for fishing or just watching the ships pass by. It’s a very relaxing environment and I would highly recommend staying here if given the opportunity. Julie (The manager) was extremely nice and very accommodating with everything from the time I moved in , to paying rent, and when I departed. You couldn’t ask for better people! I will definitely stay here again if I’m ever back it town. Thanks again Julie for the wonderful experience!

My work brings me to St. Clair throughout the year for several weeks at a time. I have made Burkemo's my home away from home. Having tried all the local accommodations, I find their facilities to be cleaner, better equipped and very reasonably priced. I particularly like having cooking facilities, free laundry and access to the river and dock. I wish they had more rooms, as it is sometimes booked when I am in need of a room for a couple weeks. Julie, the property manager, is particularly easy to work with.

I stayed here in late 2016, immediately after the rooms were totally renovated. Very clean and nicely appointed. Fully equipped kitchenette was great for eating in when I didn't want to go out. The living space was twice the size of a hotel and half the price. Nice view of the St. Clair River and access to the dock for fishing. Worth a visit.

We just spent part of our summer in beautiful St. Clair and stayed at Burkemos’s. Our little apartment was very clean and nicely appointed. It was convenient to have a fully equipped kitchenette for those days we didn’t want to dine out. We especially liked the view of the river and sitting on the dock watching the lake freighters go by. This place was a real find for our extended vacation and had everything we needed close to where we wanted to be. We have already booked our stay for next summer.

My husband and I were visiting old friends in St. Clair this fall and checked into Burkemo's River Time apartments. We were in town for several days and this place turned out to be perfect for us. It is located directly on the river and across the street from the best golf course in the area. We rented a comfortable, furnished studio apartment compete with a small kitchen. The place was very clean and fresh, with quality linens and mattress. The manager told us that they had recently completed a renovation and it showed. I especially appreciated the free laundry facility, which is also new. It was a real treat to sit on the private beach and watch the freighters move up and down the river. We return to St. Clair every year and will definitely make this our home base from now on.
