Loved this place. Stopped in without plans before a show at the music theater the food was amazing and the vibe was casual and friendly. Highly recommend.

Called at 2pm to make a reservation for 8:45pm. Confirmed multiple times that 8:45pm would be okay as they close at 10pm and was told it would be alright. Drove to restaurant (20 minutes away) just to be told that they are closed even after mentioning a reservation for 8:45pm being made earlier. Had to find an alternative restaurant to go to so late in the night on a Sunday. Inconsiderate staff.

The food is very good and so is the service. I don’t drink and was only charged $2 for a soda. My pasta dish that came with eggplant (Rigatoni alla Norma) should have had more than two small, thin slices on top. Eggplant is one of the cheapest vegetables out there - no reason to skimp on that !

Their calamari is great, other items were good and very well prepared.Service was overall good.Their space is small, so table spacing is limited; be prepared for that and a higher ambient noise level.

My sister and her boyfriend went to dinner here last night for Valentine’s Day and had a terrible experience. My sister’s boyfriend went ahead and made a reservation for 7 PM and went to look at the website and pictures of the restaurant weeks in advance. When he called yesterday to confirm the reservation, they said that they had lost the reservation and they had to get pushed to 8 PM. In addition, they said that the restaurant did not look like the pictures, and that they had Clearly added more tables for Valentine’s Day. Not only did the restaurant lose the reservation. They were also put near the door where it was freezing cold. On top of that they were sitting next to someone that the workers clearly knew and employees were constantly shouting over their table to talk to their friends and getting in their personal space. They said it was so loud they couldn’t even hear themselves talk. When the food came out my sister said her Gnocchi was FROZEN COLD in the middle and they only gave her 7 tiny pieces. They left still hungry and very disappointed. They are way too nice and didn’t want to say anything, but I’m sorry this is ridiculous and I hope no one else has this kind of experience. I understand that Valentine's Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants, but adding more tables should not sacrifice good service.

My absolute favorite place in Royal Oak! The best gnocchi and rigatoni in town. The service is incredible, ask for Ashely or Mike! They make you feel like family, and there is no better feeling. If you are celebrating something or just going out for a Tuesday (half off wine) night out, go to Luigi’s!

We had a great time at Da Luigi's and will be back. The staff and owners make you feel like family. All the food was delicious especially the gnocchi, sausage & peppers, and tiramisu. The espresso martinis are labeled as "the best", and they did not disappoint!!! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Luigi's is fashioned after a chic bistro but they suffer from having a lot of the food premade and when you have an allergy, it makes for not the most pleasant experience. I like Italian restaurants like Bacco and Mare where everything is made to order. The vibe is cozy, but don't expect anything special from Luigi's.

Went here for a date on a Thursday evening. I still have no idea if this place closes at 10pm or 11pm on Thursdays. Saying this as a compliment because we arrived at 7/7:30ish and stayed for hours enjoying wine because we enjoyed it so much. Ended up being one of the last tables to leave and in no way ever did they make us feel rushed or like we had to leave. Probably ended up staying until around 10:30pm and thought we were okay because there was another group of men at a table there who also looked like they were staying around and chatting. Turned out that last table was the owner and his friends, so we are so sorry if we overstayed our welcome, we thought it was another table of regular patrons! Never once did they indicate that we needed to “hurry up and leave”, so hard to come by and BEYOND APPRECIATED!!!! But we enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the wine so much we didn’t even realize how late we had stayed. Wonderful restaurant and wonderful staff. Hidden gem in Royal Oak, would come back time and time again!!!
