My visits are always a 10 out of 10 due to melissa's practice and teachings and guidance. She leaves you with a renewed outlook and an invitation to keep practicing.Location is great, always clean and welcoming. There are also great programs for new students.

Generally yoga means getting in a room with a lot of people and making sure you won’t get kicked since everyone is packed like sardines. Not with citizens they always make sure they limit the size so that it’s not cluastroyasa!

I've been to a lot of different yoga studios both in and out of state and citizen has something special. It has wide variety of classes, a deep knowledge of yoga practices, phenomenal instructors, and a true dedication to community.I highly recommend Nick’s Monday night restore in RO and anything with Melissa Wagasy, Soojin Kim, and Linda Kay!

I wish I could be there everyday! Citizen is an amazing community with fantastic instructors. They are welcoming, lots of class times are available and they always have the cutest retail! Kacee has started an amazing community here, so if you live in the area, stop in and try it!

I signed up for a heated class. The class was not only not heated, the door to the outside (while it was 40 degrees outside) was open. The class wasn't so much yoga as it was slow stretching. The front desk person was also rude

I’ve been practicing at Citizen a little over two years now and it’s about time I wrote a review!I’m a 200 RYT who moved to Royal Oak from Denver where the yoga world is very saturated, so I’ve been to a wide variety of different classes and studios with a wide variety of different teachers and styles over the last 15 years of practicing yoga. I say this unabashedly- Citizen is my favorite yoga studio I’ve ever been to! I take 4-7 classes weekly, mostly online with Kacee (I get heat-triggered headaches, so the very warm rooms don’t work well with me, but I know others love it. so thankful for the unlimited monthly online package!) and every single class is different- that’s a major positive for me. I’m challenged the perfect amount. In my opinion, the best part about Citizen Yoga is the focus on mental health wellness and suicide prevention. I’m a person who struggles with maintaining my mental health and my yoga practice at Citizen has played a huge part of me staying balanced the past couple years. It’s a great community and if you’re looking for a long term yoga home I highly recommend it. Thank you Citizen!ps I’m falling in love with Katonah yoga!

After having such positive experiences at the Detroit studio, decided to buy a package deal for the Royal Oak studio. However... I wish I had never even bothered. Whatever your experience with yoga, know this studio caters to a very devoted type of pretentious yogi, and it can be jarring for newcomers. It felt more like a yuppity cult than a yoga class. Zero inches between you and the next person, instructors who literally never stopped talking during class (even when it was internal meditative postures), customers cursing undrr their breath at how much they hate the class, and just extremely chaotic on the fly moves. I didn't even bother to finish my package, it was such a bad couple classes. This location has a devoted fan base and isn't going anywhere soon. If this is the type of atmosphere you like, go for it. But if it's not - definitely find another studio.

I’ve been coming to yoga here for years and I’m so thankful for this space and the instructors. It’s a very welcoming environment and each location is worth checking out because of different instructors and classes. The special events/classes are always unique and worth attending.

These classes and community has been so mentally and physically beneficial! The instructors are very knowledgeable and the community who attends is there to really learn and participate.

Attended a class here and here is my experience, The class was well led although just not really much fun when advanced people are taking a basic class really takes the fun out of trying to learn or being supported. Additionally the studio doesn't manage numbers. The space probably could hold 30-35 but they jammed 50 in there. It was uncomfortable to have someone laying across my mat and sweating on it. The only reason for the 4 stars was the amount of people. I would recommend this studio for Intermediate or Advanced Yoga people just not for Beginners.

Classes are challenging but not too challenging where it becomes annoyingly hard, especially in a hot class. The hour flowed and I dripped in sweat. That’s a good thing!! I did a warm vinyasa class on 8/7 with Sitara. Wonderful class.
