10/4 - 8-9pm. 90% of my experiences with Disc replay have been good. I have bought 1000s of dollars in products from Disc Replay in the course of a year. All my experiences has been as a buyer/ browser. Ive purchased blurays, animes discs, video games, and other numerous electronics. Never sold anything here.
Recently had a friend pass away and was asked to look into selling dvd, cds, blurays, 4k, steel case, video game collections. So I called up disc replay to see if they accepted dvds still. Was told yes. .25 cash in very good to new condition or .50 store credit.
Decided to test the waters and see how disc replay handles selling. Extremely poorly. Brought in just 1 blue bin with about a 160 dvds. The guy tells me if he goes through 30 of them and they have scratches, hes just going to stop there. Then tells me the new policy is no to any broken cases and no scratches period. So I say ok. Then i ask him how much, he says .25 ea dvd and .33 store credit.
So he starts going through them very rapid paced and has two piles going. The ones hes keeping, the ones hes saying has scratches/ broken cases. Every 6 or 7 of the ones hes claiming has scratches, I check one just to see what his gauge of denial is. Most the ones I looked at, had either a smudge mark from a FINGER or no scratches. Were there some with scratches, sure, but by the standards he was Judging them by, even the blurays which I have bought 100s from you guys, wouldnt have passed. These videos looked like they were played 1 time and thats it. A 1/4 in the box were still sealed. As he is going through them, im standing in front of him, watching him break off pieces of the case, dropping the disc, using his shirt to clearn a smudge off, and scratching the disc trying to put them back in the cases super fast. To be honest, I doubt he was even looking HARD for scratches on MOST of the disc, but was busy cherry picking them on some other criteria.
Now, I was testing the waters on SELLING. In my cargo can, I had good 3 more boxes of DVDS. 3 Boxes of blurays, like 4 or 5 boxes of 4k/ steel cased blurays, 4 boxes of limited/special edition bluray animes, 9 boxes of video games, and other various electronics. The man got ONLY 80 DVDS through the bin and asks me if I have more of the DVDS. I says yes few more boxes. He then proceeds to tell me that he ONLY wants to accept the SEALED DVDS. And I ask him if hes going to check the rest of them out? He says NO, we dont want the rest, we will just take the sealed ones. I musted had my gullible idiot face on or desperate for money face on, cause he thought I was just going to go ahead with it. I said NOPE pack them up.
I wasnt planning on breaking the bank with these dvds. I had over 500 DVDS and was literally expecting 20-40 bucks max. But the deception and the way it was handled was abysmal. This was just to test the water on how selling is handled. AWEFUL would be being generous. What pisses me off the most, was the EGG head with black glasses which Im pretty confident is the manager. He seen exactly how it was going, took a back seat, and proceed to act like he was too busy for plausible deniability purposes. If I didnt shop at that store so much, I mightve not noticed. But over the course of 1 yr, of scowering the shelves for hrs every week or other week. I have witnessed how the manager/employees been handling customers. Yes some are trying to pull some shit and need to leave, but the employees have also been pulling some shit and like to talk about it for hours after the customer leaves about the shit they pull out in the open, LOUDLY. So everyone can hear.
I refuse to return to the store to do ANY TYPE of business, as a SELLER and as a BUYER period. I will go to the OTHER disc replays, but NOT this one!
Update- went to the other disc replay. They bought them all except for 14. So yeah thy tried to pull a scam!

Pretty cool spot, have lots of interesting things to purchase. Store can be a bit hard to shop tho as it feels out of order, and stickers make it hard to read spines.
Employees are nice and knowledgeable. Stop once a month to see new stock of used product.

First, I want to say that I have been to this disc replay location multiple times and have had good experiences. The last time I was in the store, I had purchased one of their ps4 bundles that came with a controller (that was all scratched up but not a problem as long as it worked) and the system with all cables. I had the system for about a year or so without any issues. I recently purchased a PS5 and was looking to trade my ps4 back in to this same location to purchase some ps5 games from them. When I they started to evaluate my equipment they quickly said they would not take the system due to the warranty sticker not being on the back of the ps4 system. I was confused as I did not alter or touch the system at all so they sold me the system this way. They then told me they could take the controller and give me 13 dollars. I agreed as again I was still looking to spend money in the store. After a couple minutes, they came back and said they couldn’t take it due to the scratches. Again another denial of equipment that they sold me and did not change or worsen in my care. This has completely destroyed a relationship that I had with this company. They literally sell things and then refuse to accept them when brought back. What I will say is to anyone thinking about purchasing or trading in , please try out media reload in Utica. Not only do they treat you so much better but their trade in values are better and so are their prices. They tested out all the equipment and seen that it was all in order and offered me a good fair deal. Again, was a longtime customer but when you don’t stand by the equipment you sell then I will no longer give you my business.
