I spoke with Dave ahead of time about a serious oil leak and a frame that needed welding done. I made an appointment 6 weeks ahead to have my 1966 GTO trucked to his shop because it wasn't driveable. When the car was received, he called me, and he stated that he wouldn't work on the car. At first, he said that it needed to be plated, which I said could be remedied immediately. Secondly, he said that I would have to sign off on a possible crack to the frame if the crack completely severed in his shop,,,, to which I agreed. Thirdly, he said that I couldn't drive it and I said that I wasn't going to drive it any time soon, that I just wanted to fix the oil leak first. Fourthly, he said that it would be dangerous to work on it in his shop. After all of my accommodations to him, he told me that he wanted the car removed from his property. I was appalled about his disrespect and unwillingness to negotiate a single thing. I confronted him that he has more work than he can handle and that he didn't want to spend time on my car because it would slow down his cash flow, and he didn't deny it.

Paid 3k to have work done on my vehicle. D&P added air conditioning, new struts, switch two rims and tires, alignment, and added a vacuum boost gage. They had my car all summer. Finally after 3 months I went and picked it up. The owners counter help said sorry they just had an older machanic retire.The owner explained he was having trouble with my air conditioning that they installed. He actually told me to shut it off and turn it back on a couple times and it will work. Also I asked the owner to put that on the work order so I can bring it back in the fall to have it further diagnosed. He said no and was very rude on the phone.When I picked up my car back I noticed he was whipping my car with a red shop rag on the rear quarter. He ended up putting deep scratches in the clear coat of my rear left quarter of my car. Also there was also oil dripping down the windshield into the front cowl and hood. I made it a mile down the road and my driver side inner fender Well was dragging on top of the tire. Then after 100 miles I took my car to slims on Gratiot and they said my brand new struts were leaking. So make a long story short be aware of D&P Auto repair. Very poorly run shop. Would not recommend D&P Auto repair to any car enthusiast.

They charge me about 450.$ in parts they probably cost them 160.$ , and I got gouged on the labor NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I wanted to thank Dave and Cindy for getting my truck back as I was quoted by other shops who were trying to get me to buy a new engine and Dave instead looked further into it and discovered that I didn’t need an engine and only need 400.00 in repairs instead 6,000-7,000 dollars for reman engine! Dave went above and beyond to get my truck straightened out and get it back to in me only a few days. Thank you Dave I’m very grateful and appreciate everything sir.

Simply put this is a family business that has been around for decades. They are honest and reliable. Getting your car repaired is the last thing any of us want to do, but you can leave here knowing it was done right??.
