I believe you can best judge a person’s character by how they treat strangers - I also feel that this applies to how to judge small local businesses as well. It’s relatively easy to expect a business owner to treat a local well. However, how a business owner treats a customer that they can assume will never be a repeat customer says a lot about their business ethos. With all of that being said, Schleben Tire in Rogers City will treat you right.I was just passing through on a scenic drive, from our rental In Cheboygan down along the cost towards Alpena. I noticed my tire was leaking fast, but knew I could make it to at least Rogers City. I used the air hose at the first gas station I got to entering town, and the attendant recommended Schleben Tire just down the road further.When I got to the shop, the man I assume to be the owner greeted me ay the counter as he finished up with another customer. I explained the situation, and he said he had a packed schedule ahead of him, but that he’d get to it as fast as he could. He said it could be a few hours, but I really didn’t have much of an option, so I told him any time he had would be what was going to have to work. He must’ve juggled his schedule a bit, because he had the tire off not twenty minutes later. After a quick patching, I was back on the road.Could he have made me wait all day? Sure. Could he have gouged me in fee charged? Sure. Did he do either of these things? No. He was kind and courteous, charged a fair price, and treated me to the care with which I assume he treats all of his local customers. If you’re searching Google Maps for a tire place in the Rogers City area and found this review, I hope you feel more confident in limping your car to Schleben Tire - they’ll get you back on the road quickly, fairly, and competently.

What a joke? everyone talks about these guys being so good. It’s a shame you couldn’t even balance my tires but you rotated them? How lazy. You’re the 3rd shop I’ve been to & gotten ripped off.

Bought four new tires from Schleben with install, 43 miles after install the front driver side tire got tired of being connected to the vehicle so took a quick solo roll 250 ft into a culvert. Need I say more?
