Nice place for lumber, some of the prices a little higher than other local yards.

I love this place. I needed a small piece of oak and they had what I needed and cut it for me. Super nice people and I love looking at their selections.

Very nice Ace Hardware. I am so glad that they have a hardware store right near me. The staff is friendly and helpful and answers questions with ease. It is very clean, it is good sized hardware store. It has ample parking. It is also close to a pharmacy as well as a grocery store. It saves me time, going to the big box stores.

D&U is more that ‘just a lumber yard’. Their options and services to customize a remodel or build of your home are so much better than a big box store. From windows and doors to custom cabinetry, they have all the details and will take the time to help you choose with one of their custom designers.

Tried to order a piece of Zuri lumber and they completely dropped the ball. I initially received a price but the follow-up to ordering it was all air. Ended up going to a lumber yard 35 min away and had it the next day.

Ordered Anderson windows. Took a very long time to arrive. When arrived all ordered windows and door went well other than to windows two windows were miss measured. Claimed we changed our plan, put all the claim on us! No respect for the customer who didn’t have anything to do with the measurement. Reorder the windows which came in a 1/2 short. Very disappointed when a credit was given but not the full refund for what was ordered. Contacted the higher management with no reply’s.

Ordered Andersen windows and patio door from D&U in Q1 2021 for my remodel. Happy with the product and the ordering process was smooth. Nice showroom space as well. Had to deal with several delays on the windows and while this is in no way the fault the D&U communication to me about delays was very poor; I basically had to actively manage their sales reps through most of this process to keep things moving along. The patio door was ordered incorrectly two times (ended up keeping the second one at a nice discount, I do appreciate that). When the windows did finally arrive (again, not saying the delay was the fault of D&U, 2021 was crazy times) the install crew (Kurt) was great and did very nice work installing everything including some minor exterior brickwork. Last point is on the screens for the 5 windows; it's been ~12 months and I only have 2 of them. Again, there was a long backorder timing BUT I discovered when the windows were delivered to me in Q3 2021 that the screens were never ordered when the window order was placed ~6 months prior. Very bad communication from the sales staff on this (trying to cut them some slack as they seemed swamped every time I was in the store).I highly recommend putting in place a modern online customer portal application so people can easily review large orders, check on order status, etc. and not have to rely on a small and very busy sales staff to do all this communication themselves. Not sure if a digital warehouse inventory system exists but that would also help smooth out your operations (when my first 2 screens did arrive they sat in the warehouse for a few weeks and were only found when I came into the store asking about them). I have a feeling my last 3 screens are in the same situation.Undecided if I will use D&U for future business; I am planning to purchase a front door system and more replacement windows later this year.

I'm rebuilding my deck with a composite material but had no experience with it. Josh was very helpful and spent alot of time with me explaining how it all comes together, the do's and don't and the differences between materials. He was great to work.

As most have experienced home remodeling and construction can be an arduous challenge. After contemplating several alternatives for our home we chose to work with Dillman & Upton primarily considering our initial experience with their designer and our perception of their team's quality Beginning with our first conversation, we believed that our designer provided sound advice and guidance, had valuable experience, was knowledgeable, considerate, thorough, and accessible for advice, suggestions and questions. The designer proved out, thankfully. Interactions with the D&U office staff were overall good. A significant surprise was the assignment of both subcontractors other than D&U's usual team. While it is impossible to directly compare our subcontractors with D&U's longstanding team, our's did not have deep, meaningful, value added experience dealing with D&U schematics, overall design and details. This required or significant involvement of our time to interpret details of the blueprint to affect the design goals. We had to call our designer and adjourn major meetings several times for reinforcement of the construction details. Requesting and requiring that some work being redone and changed to conform with a specific design specifications. We had to be our own advocate for a correct job and request repairs for damages to our home (three walls which require our own sanding, priming and repainting). Most disconcerting we had to be our own on-site project manager. A very important aspect we believe dealing with D&U would have provided. Perhaps D&U will say this is over stated and normal construction angst. However, we do not believe it was completed in good faith, as contracted and representative. It was far more tension to get what we paid for wanted or believe was appropriate. In retrospect we believe that the subcontractors should've been highly versed in D&U design goals and had the ability and desire to fully comprehend blueprints and call D&U directly when necessary to discern and clarify. Is this the best craftsmanship that our community offers? Opportunity for improvement include addressing all of the above concerns. Additionally, the price, documentation and communication regarding change orders must be improved. We recognize that some contractors or self-motivated and completed high-quality work, the first time. At our projects conclusion the project, while painful several times, was mostly completed successfully.

I needed a single Westbury post. Called D&U and easily placed my order over the phone on a Thursday afternoon. They told me it would arrive on Monday. Friday morning comes, and someone called me to inform me that it was delayed by a day from their supplier, and it would arrive on Tuesday. They called me Tuesday to tell me it was ready to be picked up. Great communication, very friendly personal, and good pricing.
