Ever heard of a bookstore that has no books? Now you have because this location is pickup only now with upcharges. Better luck ordering from Amazon to get it faster, cheaper, and to your house. RIP to physical stores

Very expensive. It's almost $60 dollars for a water bottle. However, the book pick up queue was long but moved very quickly.

My understanding is that a new vendor is coming in to assume responsibility for the Oakland University Book Store.

This store is layed out beautifully when you walk in. The Starbucks is very nice. I needed help from the staff and they were very accommodating and helpful in finding and ordering what I needed.

Purchasing textbooks, in any university/college, is often a mandatory and expensive chore. Oakland University’s on-site “Barnes and Noble” store is no exception. If possible, as a student, you should purchase your textbooks from other online and on-site competitors! Ebay, Amazon, Abebooks, and LibraryGenesis are some examples.Shopping around, I’ve noticed that the university’s provided bookstore upcharges students double, triple, or even quadruple from their competitors! Only shop at the bookstore, if you are considering purchasing OU apparel or a diploma/degree frame.

Avoid!!! They don’t keep up with their opening and closing times. I drove an hour today on 01/03/2022 just to find them they are closed. It shower open til 5pm when I googled them, but heck they fooled me. Also, their online system is totally messed up. You can never find the right book and if you find it, its after playing around on their website for long timeeeee.

Try to buy somewhere else first. The prices are high and they often try to make you buy things you don't need for your classes by recommending them. Like for orgo 1 and 2 you only really need the textbook. They try to make you buy the textbook a study guide set and a modelling kit along with other study sheets. You don't need any of this except the textbook and even that is probably online somewhere.Lines are usually long when you need them so try to go when no other students would be thinking about it (presemester start).

Poor service experience with Nigel, the store manager. Wouldn’t return a $300+ book that was in perfectly good condition within the first week of classes. Get your books and access codes online through the actual websites instead of going through them.
