Absolutely wonderful experience. Nice selection. Fabulous customer service. Beautiful decor. Clean store. Friendly people. The parking situation could be better, but it's pretty normal for downtown. I enjoyed myself.

What a cute little shop. It has plenty of fabric, patterns, and little "gifts"... I went in with a need of a pattern for a baby quilt (I already had the material from my stash) and the store keeper was still very very helpful...and was not pushing me to buy more fabric. A must if your a quilter!!!

I'm ashamed to say that up until recently, I hadn't shopped for fabric anywhere but Joanns. But finally, enough was enough, and as I commit to sewing more and delving into the world of quilting, I decided to source all my fabric from places other than Joanns, opting instead to explore the small fabric stores in my area, and what a great decision that was! I was able to discover so many new favorites, 2nd Street Quilt Shop being one of them, and source so many gorgeous, fresh & new designs I had never seen before! It has truly renewed my interest in sewing, and I'm truly excited to embark on this new quest in quilting!2nd Street Quilt Shop is located in a cute little white house, just a half block off of Main Street in downtown Rochester. Their hours are a bit weird, so it took me a while to finally come here, but I managed to bundle this into a trip I made downtown to the Rochester Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning and it was just perfect! I honestly love that this place is very clearly structured to be a house, but has been turned into a fabric store. The layout is so unique and fun to walk through, there is so much natural light in addition to all the cabinets, countertops, etc. being white, so everything feels bright and airy in here, so warm and inviting! I had a blast twisting and turning every which way to explore all the nooks and crannies, hunting for any & all fabrics that piqued my interested! The person who owns the shop was the one who cut all my fabrics for me as well & she was so friendly too! She seemed to be the only one working the entire shop and it was so apparent in our conversations as she cut my fabric that this shop and quilting is a huge passion of hers. I love knowing that she is successfully running a store that is born out of her own passions and will definitely be stopping by here often to search for new fabrics & get inspired for new projects soon! :)

My favorite quilt shop, where “everyone knows your name.” I can’t wait until you reopen. Having serious fabric withdrawals.
