I lived for a short period of time in Ottawa Lake Michigan which is in Monroe County Michigan, but was serviced from Riga's post office in Lenawee County. I was fearful of crossing US 223 for my mail every day and asked why I was the only customer who’s mail box was on the opposite side of the road. I even contacted Detroit and asked to move the box to my side of the road. The Riga office called me and said they would have to redo the mail route so that was too much trouble even though the mail carrier made left hand turns onto US 223 for other customers. I got the heck out of there in 6 months for my safety. I guess they don't care about senior citizens safety.
