As a Michigan elopement photographer, I was STOKED to recommend this beautiful camp venue to my couple, which is exactly the kind of location they were wanting. The owners are fabulous, kind, intentional, and fun. They have an amazing location in the Upper Peninsula, perfect for weddings and elopements of all types. The access to a lake with a canoe was paramount for my couple and their elopement experience. The charm and coziness of this place is unmatched. The reception space was so warm and inviting, complete with candles and vintage details. I'm so excited to come back for future elopements.
Noteworthy details: Lake access with canoes, paddleboards, row boats, and more. Sauna for guest use. Peaceful and quiet surroundings for a relaxing vibe away from it all.

The location is incredible and the owners are wonderful people. We stayed for a wedding and I will say that the cabin we were in was not air conditioned, so it was pretty hot in the middle of July. Also, the mosquitos were bad. However, we loved it here!

We had an excellent experience working with Madi and Mike for our wedding at their beautiful venue. The outdoor ceremony on the bluff was very well put together. Mike and Madi had many options available for us to choose from and were very accommodating to achieve what we were looking for in a small and intimate family wedding. They clearly put a lot of work into making our wedding a success and expressed thoughtful attention to detail. Our family really enjoyed their time experiencing the beauty of the UP wilderness. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or a more helpful couple to work with.

A few days late, but I'd like to share our experience that we had in Republic. We stayed in the river cabin for two nights in early April (I was lucky enough to have won a two night stay), which had two rooms, one with a queen size bed and one with a full bed. They both seemed comfortable. We chose to sleep in the one with the full cause it was squishier and had a better view of the night sky!
The cabin has a beautiful view of the river, and was delightful to watch the birds and sun in the morning and just chill out. Would recommend for a few days getaway or a cozy honeymoon. And we got to watch cable TV and fun murder mystery shows, it really felt like a break and we both finished our books... unheard of.
We brought some food and used the kitchen to make some simple meals and coffee. We asked Madi and Mike for a sauna before the second day which was really nice, it's a traditional sauna and housed in a little library nook with a record player-- you can just text them. We read up on the history of that and it was fun.
A few things to note for folks who are thinking of staying at this cabin in preparation: there are probably walking trails nearby that we didn't take advantage of. Water pressure in the bathroom is fabulous. They provided coffee, creamers, teas, linens, basic kitchen supplies and utensils. The water smells strongly of minerals? Probably iron, since you know, that's where we live, so if you're super picky just bring a few gallons of water for drinking. Or you can go pick some up in town. We noticed a water cooler, and we stayed in the weird off season with very short notice so it's likely that Madi and Mike have already thought about this and provide that. The rooms in the river cabin don't have traditional doors. And I heated up water on the stove for washing dishes in warm water in the kitchen.
We'd stay again!

Son had a basketball game in the area and figured we would stay the night instead of driving almost 2 hours back home - so glad we did, most of all for finding this spot!!! Such an awesome area and definitely will be back!! Great spot for a staycation or any kind of get away!!!

We had a wonderful first time camping together ❤️ ? We enjoyed the solitude and quite, got plenty of relaxing time done as well as some reading. The Den is a gorgeous camp site that made us feel at home as soon as we stepped in. Thank you so much to Mike and Maddie for the hospitality. Can't wait for our next camping adventure ❤️Nearby activities: The lake is all set with kayaks and other fun water sports, there is a games shed to pick through as well.Food & drinks: The Summer Place was a nice breakfast spot not far from the campground as well as a couple local taverns.

My wife and I had contacted them with late notice for an event that was occurring in Republic, MI. They were extremely helpful, clearly maximizing their flexibility in offering us accommodations. We ended up renting a cabin and it was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. My only complaint is that we were not able to spend more time exploring their ~120 acres of trails, rivers, and lakes. We cannot wait to visit again!
