I usually get really good service here. My ONLY complaint is that the self service machine used to make your visit faster And more convenient, has yet to work. The last time I was here, it was a long constant beep. This time it took me all the way to the payment screen, just for it not to read my card. And before anyone comes with the jokes, it happened to the person behind me as well (I had to wait and see if it worked for anyone else). Either way it goes, I wasted time at the machine and still ended up coming on the inside and standing in line behind 6 people - with 2 people at the window. Just go ahead and put an out of order sign on the machine; Save us all some time.

The very definition of incompetence lives in this building. I had a package shipped from California, it arrived in Detroit's sorting facility where it sat for a day before being marked "in transit". After 4 days (5 days past the expected delivery date) my package showed "arrived in Des Moines, IOWA. I called this office, which is my local, and was promptly placed on hold for 15 minutes which is apparently their process if you look at other reviews. The woman acted like she had absolutely no idea what was going on and told me she'd call me back. After two days and no call back, my package was updated to Illinois. I called back and...you guessed it...was placed on hold for 11 minutes before speaking to someone who said she would look for my package and call me back. She called back in less than 5 minutes and said she had found my package and I could come pick it up. I told her I'd be there in 30 minutes. I drove 20 minutes there, waited in line for 10 minutes, and after another 10 minutes of everyone in the building looking for my package, THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHERE IT WAS. I asked them to call who I had spoken to and they said they couldn't reach her. I had just wasted an hour for absolutely nothing! And now I'm again stuck in limbo without a package.

I came to the post office because it was the only one open on Sunday in my area. They opened promptly at noon (there were already several people waiting outside) and took care of all of us quickly and cordially. There was a gentleman working on August 4th and he was the most delightful service person I've encountered this year. That man deserves a raise and a large pizza. Also he was this pleasant on SUNDAY. Bravo sir, bravo.

Worst post office. Needs new people from the top down. When you call you get put on hold and no one ever gets back to you. You go there and the clerks are rude and don't have a clue. They're always to busy. Our mail carrier never puts our out going mail flag down on our mailbox...that's Day one sh*t people. I've have not talked to one person that has had one good thing to say about the Redford post office.

WARNING TO ALL CUSTOMERS!! If you are interested in shipping an item buying stamps or any of the many services they provide know this the staff is insignificant with lines practically out the door! And the quality of service is beyond horrendous! My son and I have had items that were lost and never shipped. That place is like the black hole of shipping! Items go in they never come out to their destinations! I am officially done with using them for anything!! Will find another way to ship items and get stamps!
