Terrible experience. First, I purchase the sofa and am told that I can pick up the sofa from this Portage location.
Later they call me and say that I cannot pickup my sofa from this location and will have to either go to mishawaka, indiana or nearly to Grand Rapids to pick it up.
So I switch to from pickup to delivery and they tell me the delivery will be December 18th. I placed the order on November 14th.
Now, when I checked on the delivery status website, I'm told the expected delivery is January 8th. That's nearly two months after I placed my order.
Additionally, no one told me that my order wasn't going to be delivered on the date they said it would. Good thing i checked myself, but i already took the day off work!
Plus as things have been going, who knows if my sofa will actually be delivered on January since they keep pushing the date back.
What is it called when you give someone money for something but then they don't ever provide that thing? Oh, that's right, it's called theft.
This place is a joke and I don't recommend them to anyone.
I'm going to cancel my order and buy a sofa from a company that will actually GIVE me the sofa I paid for.

Bought twin beds in September, still waiting for delivery!!!! End of December. So they take your money and then no furniture,
We did get bed frame and it’s scratched but if I send it back , I’ll never see it again 🤦♀️

We purchased a new sectional and recliner today. Dan was our salesperson and he was great. He didn’t pressure us to buy and was integral through the whole process. The store itself offered a great variety of choices and was clean and welcoming. The manager who assisted with completing the purchase was also kind and competent and promises that he will give Dan a big bonus and a free cup of coffee! For real, we were very satisfied ! 😊

We had a fantastic experience shopping at Value City Furniture, thanks to Walt, the sales manager. From the moment we walked in, he listened closely to what we were looking for and guided us with expertise and patience. Walt went above and beyond, making sure we were completely happy with our choices.

Normally I go into furniture stores ready to "just look" but today I just wanted to get what I was gonna get as long as I could find it, I wasn't going to worry about if I could find a better price somewhere else. Upon walking into the store I see 3 different associates. One was helping a couple, the second was providing the "assist" I suppose and the other was sitting down at a desk/table looking not that busy at all. There was no "Hello, Welcome, Can I help you find anything today?" or anything. They all made eye contact though, then proceeded to find anything to busy themselves with. Hmm okay. I continue to just look for what I want on my own. After a while I passed multiple associates who couldn't be bothered to speak or offer help I found a dresser I thought I might want and checked over the pieces a little closer. I wanted real wood if I could find it and I thought I found one until I looked at the back of it and inside the drawers and found particle board, damn! Oh well, needless to say I have just discovered that there's nothing here that I want but multiple associates have very obviously ignored me, if not taking a different paths to avoid me altogether. I could have have going and walked up to someone and asked for assistance but at this point I doing really want. Not sure why no one is offering help in the middle of a Saturday, you'd think they'd want to take my money but I guess not. I gave myself a $1K budget to just get what I want and have it delivered. Unfortunately they didn't have anything that would work but the customer service was absolutely the worst that I have experienced in a very, very long time. Needless to say I will not be returning and won't be recommending this store to anyone ever. Just like I was treated as if I didn't exist today, I'm going to act as if this business doesn't exist. Thanks for nothing VCF!

I had a very disappointing experience with Value City Furniture in Portage, MI. We purchased a powered recliner sofa. Along with the furniture, we bought an extended warranty, which they assured us would cover repairs from “head-to-toe.”
However, when it came time to use this warranty for repairs, we faced complete radio silence. We emailed and called multiple times, leaving voice messages, but received no response from Value City or the third-party provider. Even after visiting the store to report the issue, the manager, Ryan, took no action to help. This back-and-forth went on for months, and when we finally got through, we were told the repair wasn’t covered under the warranty—something that was never mentioned at the time of purchase.
We even asked if they could take the couches back at a cost, but they refused. Unfortunately, we ended up discarding them due to the poor quality and lack of support. We’ve had much better experiences with competitors like Bob’s Furniture, where repairs and replacements are handled promptly and without hassle.
If you’re looking for reliable service and quality furniture, I strongly recommend avoiding Value City Furniture. Their customer service and warranty support are simply not up to standard. Sheriff

Only issue, website does not emphasize no delivery in Kalamazoo
