The associates are very respectful and kind although the older lady who I'm assuming is the manager was very rude and condescending to me. I wasn't asking for her advice and she decided to give me her input anyways. From one retail worker to another be more kind to customers you never know what they're going through.

Petco is normally a pretty decent place for me snd my husband to last minute shop, however tonight it was not. My husband and I went to go to Petco because the heating lamp for his gecko had died and was not working. If it is not known, this could cause the gecko to die. We rushed over to Petco knowing they would have more lamps and strolled into the business at around 8:55. At the time we had no clue that it was closing at 9 (our bad and we did apologize). We made our way to the back of the store trying to find the lamps, when this worker says "The store is closed, please find what you need and leave." I said "Oh we're sorry, where are your heating lamps?" She told us where and we grabbed our items then headed up the front to check out. When we made it to the front two of the workers were standing there chatting clearly both happy, which is fine because its okay to be happy to be done with a shift that is understandable, so my husband and I waited patently as they finished talking. At this point we were still being polite, and we were the entire time because we both felt bad being in the store after it had closed. One of the girls finally checked us out after talking for about 5 minutes, but as she checked us out her mood changed completely. She became snotty and rude. Our card declined once and she gave my husband a dirty look and then told him to try again. Once we were done checking out the girl escorted us out, but before letting us out she locked the door and then opened it with her hands while giving us dirty looks. We both still felt bad for not knowing it was closed and my husband said "We're sorry, we didn't know you were closed." The girl then replies in the most snotty tone "You actually did know, she just went back and told you." and then proceeds to slam the door and watch us walk to our car. While I will own up to our wrongs in going into the store before closing I will not sit here and allow my husband and I to be treated with such disrespect from an employee when we are the customers. We walked in before the store was closed and were not stopped, and then were rudely treated even though we are still customers. It should not matter whether the store is closed or not, a customer is a customer and they should always be treated with respect. It is understandable to be annoyed but there is no acceptable reason to treat a customer in such manners. We will not be returning and this information will be shared so no one else will have to deal with such rude treatment.

I've been a loyal customer to the Portage #01975 for many years. The employees have always been nice and helpful. For the first time, I've never been met with such rudeness and unwillingness to help. On 3/26/24, I purchased several fish, which were placed into a clear bag with no printing on it. 2 of the fish died recently, so I returned today to see about an replacing the fish, since I was still in the 30 day period. When I go back to the fish department, the employee I dealt with was said that she couldn't replace my fish since I didn't have a water sample. I could get a refund but she wouldn't do an even out exchange. I was unaware of this policy. She held up 2 of the bags she had on her and said that the policy were printed on the bags. I said the bags that I was given at the time of the purchase was clear. She basically said that I was mistaken and must've gone to a different store. I was like lady, I have a receipt. It clearly states this location. And I've been coming to this location for years. Well she continues to state that well you can get a refund and buy new fish, but an exchange is not going to happen without that water sample. When I tried to ask her when this policy was implemented, she refuse to tell me, saying that it was on their bag and they've always had the bags with the policy printed on it. This makes me wonder if it's even worth to go back to that location at all or go to a different pet store.

Amber has always done a great job with Lincoln and Hailey. They really really love her and always excited when I tell them they are going to see her.

Excellent! We have been having our dog groomed by a private groomer while living out of state and looked here but couldn't find any. They were either not accepting new dogs or appointments would be 2 months out which is unacceptable. We hesitated going here because we think of Petco as a dog food and supply store rather than a groomer but we made an appointment and we're so glad we did! They took him the next day and did an awesome job! We'll be bringing him here from now on.

April 13th I took my 3 amigos to Petco I asked for a full groom for each and their nails clipped and smoothed with a Dremel. I explained they were almost 16 years old and had issue one had a really bad eye! Their faces might be difficult! They said they would call me if their was a problem. No call ! Storms nails haven't been clipped properly and no Dremel was used. He's chewing them. I'll never go back!

Spectacular staff and service. The pup stylists were a joy to speak with and took great care of my puppy. She got a wash and trim and smelled amazing upon pickup. They were great with her and were amazing at familiarizing her with the grooming process. My pup was admittedly on the wiggly side especially with her face and feet, but the team was great at working with her, keeping her happy and getting her fresh and clean.Not the best pics to be honest, but she was super cute in person.

We’ve had good experiences here and are happy with the grooming our pup has received. Our groomer is experienced and didn’t force trimming sensitive areas (Ears, feet, etc.) until our dog was ready for it. We appreciate this kind of care and attention knowing we’ve left our dog in good hands. Room for improvement would be a call/text when there is need for an additional charge/service added. I also tried to contact the grooming department to get a status update and no one picked up. This is probably more of a Petco general issue, I know the groomers have their hands full.

Decided to get my new Shih zhu his shoots and hair groomed here. He love it looks nice and they have great staff. Most definitely continuing my pet services here. His haircut was $50 before tax and fees.
