I absolutely love my little pirate princess Lola, and KAR made the adoption process so smooth. I applied for her on a whim at work on Friday morning and they told me I could come meet her and take her home the same day if everything went well. She’s been home for a little over a month now and she has settled in so well! She’s very loving and curious and enjoys her full time job as a pest control specialist in my apartment. She’s my very first pet ever and I’m so glad that I met her thanks to KAR! The first pic was her first time out of her carrier when I brought her home, and the other 2 are more recent

Poor communication, rude staff members. All we wanted was to adopt a kitten and give it a FOREVER HOME and was met with hostile emails and hostle behavior. We filled out all the preliminary stuff and it wasn't good enough, they had some concerns but never reached out to talk to me/us by a phone call, just emails after emails even after being told when I was available to talk. I believe they already had their mind made up that we were not good enough and played games with us. They never contacted our vet they said they did but that wasn't the case they lied. Not a place we want to do business with at all. Here is the last email my girlfriend received from them. That lady is down right rude and a liar !! We are very disappointed in the place and organization and want others to know how we were treated.

The workers are very sweet and helpful. We end up there a lot whether we find an abandoned pet that we found, or to check up on them and hope they find good homes.
They take great care of their pets.

Beware that if the pet you adopt is sick, KAR will not help you treat it. I got a kitten with health issues and KAR refuses to pay for treatment even when the kitten was sick when I got it. They will keep the exorbitant adoption fee and tell you the medical bills are not their problem. The kitten ended up getting my other cat sick and I had to spend hundreds at the vet on visits, tests, and treatment because KAR does not care about its animals.The shelter where I got my other cat a few years ago treated its respiratory infection for free. This place is shady and dealing with KAR has been a giant headache.

A terrible experience with someone named "Tracy." Our beloved cat needed a medical procedure we were unable to give him. We sent a photo with explanation and Tracy responded that they'd love to help yet nothing happened as she told us it would. She gave us the wrong address, making our last moments with him even more stressful, and re-homed him in less than 24 hours with no medical care. It took a series of increasingly forceful emails before she finally responded, claiming I "obviously didn't care care about him because I gave him up." She was extremely callous and even cruel. Years later it remains a painful, bitter memory.

NEVER GO HERE TO ADOPT A CAT I BROKE DOWN IN TEARS I wanted to adopt a kitty it's been a year or so of my dogs passing. So I decided with my boyfriend we should adopt a kitty from chowhound. I wanted a new chapter in my life to raise an adorable animal with the love of my life. We saw this beautiful cat she was two years old beautiful stunning kitty. This kitty was so friendly it wanted to come home with us I swear. We kept seeing the cat everyday so my boyfriend applied for an application right away they messaged us like in a day but then got denied for some miscommunication about not declawing the kitty I will say this again we will never harm a cat at all. I really thought this foster just wanted to keep her. Never saw if this kitty got adopted at all. The thing is why do you leave these kitties in a cage in chowhound the smell of their litter box not being changed lingers in the air. I feel so bad for these kitties. You guys really need to update your system of adopting instead of emailing at least give us a call or see us in person what a terrible way to communicate about adopting.

Gut-wrenching experience due to poor communication and customer service. Definitely need better Fosters who aren’t sketchy and to pay for some staff who know how handle business-especially if you’re going to charge $600 for a “rescue.”
