Michigan Animal Rescue League is amazing. I personally called several vets and shelters to find one that would help with a dog who needed an emergency surgery. MARL stepped up to help. Thank you to the staff!!!

Don’t waste your time applying for these beautiful pets. Over the last 6+ months, I had applied for est. 6 dogs & 2 cats. Only actual contact was on the cats, but was told the ones I wanted were no longer available or wouldn’t be right for my household. They try to steer me towards a different cat on the phone. I felt like I was being pressured and had to make a decision right then & there. The dogs, you get the same old form letter. Acknowledgment of application & then turn down. WHATS AMAZES IS THEY TELL YOU ANOTHER FAMILY IS FOUND & ITS STILL ON THE WEBSITE FOR ANOTHER 3 WKS. But beware… I do notice some of these dogs are back up for adoption w/i 30 days. I also believe they discriminate against those who are 50 years or older. They ask for you birth date on the application. I know several people who are my age or older whom have been turned down. I guess HELP ME HANK,BBB, and MICHIGAN ATTORNEY GENERAL office needs to look into this organization. I’ve already heard from the AG there’s a lot of complaints lately. I have a 12 yr old rescue dog whom I wanted a companion for as well as myself. I live in a very nice apartment in a very NICE location, and make great money. They just judge you on paper & not by phone or personal interview. Plus I have alot of LOVE to give to one of these animals. Good luck in your adoption process. Don’t let MARL break your heart or self esteem. ??

Staff was extremely kind & attentive. Easy, thorough process. Definitely dedicated to their cause ?Most impressive that the animal was up date in all medical aspects to simplify a complete transition to the new home with a buffer built in for the new parents to acclimate to the regime ✌?Photo of the ride home

The team and facilities at MARL are awesome! We adopted a new family member and they made it so easy. The team clearly loves the animals they care for and are low pressure, focused on the right fit for family and animal.

So, went in there and spoke with a.. Heighly or Kaeighly?? Well, she was extremely rude to us. All we wanted to do was adopt a puppy and shes asking us questions in a very condescending way, like if we are actually ready for the responsibility or not?! RUDE.

they don't respond to inquiries within their own timeframe of 3-5 days. after waiting longer than that and sending a follow-up email with no response, we ended up adopting a puppy from a shelter who responded the same day. this wouldn't be a big deal if they allowed phone calls or visits, but only emailing is allowed here.

Dissappinted. Applied to adopt a cat i saw online. Was called at noon and asked to come at 3. I couldn't do it. Made appt for 11 the next morning. Instead of telling me that cat was already adopted ( the day before) they let me come in anyway. Left emptyhanded. Now, 3 weeks later I've asked to see 3 other cats. said they would call. never called. I guess if you don't take the cats they want you to you don't get any.

We were so impressed with the process from beginning to end. The staff/volunteers are so engaged and knowledgeable about the health and behaviors of the dogs. I feel the staff/volunteers really work with the dogs to teach them the basics: sit, come, how to walk on a leash, etc. The facility is clean and not overwhelming to visit. Welcome to the family Fiona formally Santas Helper

Everyone was amazing from the time we walked in to the moment we left. Emma was extremely helpful with all our questions & truly knew the dog, one could tell she enjoyed her position there, just a Sweetheart. Taylor at the front desk super nice. We are so happy we found our girl would highly recommend MARL to everyone. 10 stars plus!!

MARL lead me to the absolute best kitty and best friend a girl could ask for! The adoption process was very smooth, and they ensured I had all the medical information I needed for my new cat and told me all about her history. They were incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. I would highly highly highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new pet family member!
