Always going to these places and no one's ever there anymore. Hopefully they can get back to opening the store so people can use the stuff I'm sure they got a stockpile.

I tried to purchase a home through Habitat for Humanity Oakland and I found the entire process unorganized and disappointing. I disclosed my salary with them at the beginning of the application process and my application was accepted knowing my current income. I jumped through all of the hoops they required and waited for months just for them to tell me I do not qualify due to my salary. I was strung along for months and was disappointed with the unfortunate outcome. The organization itself failed to properly communicate with me through the entire process up until telling me I do not qualify for the home.I find the guidelines of their program confusing and often the members of the organization I spoke to didn’t know their own guidelines. At one point the person that I was working with told me that she has had a few of her sorority sisters get homes through habitat for humanity and it makes me wonder if her sorority sisters had to go through the difficult process that I did? I doubt it. The organizations realtor told me that Habitat needs to sell these homes and are highly motivated to get people into these homes but I did not see that reflected in how I was handled while trying to purchase a Habitat of Humanity home.Overall I am very disappointed that my time was wasted and my hopes were up. I was lead to believe that I qualified for this home when my application was accepted and I started to move through the process, only to be told after months of waiting that I do not qualify for the home.

This was the worst experience I ever had in trying to meet the requirements for the home buyers program. This program is picking and choosing who they feel should get a new home vs A refurbished home. I did everything that was asked of me. How does my income qualify for a Refurbish property and not count as towards a new property make it make sense ?. So please beware!

I went to the Grand River store looking for a bed for my niece. Shawndale was very helpful, he moved treasures out of the way so I could get a good look at the merchandise. He made sure I was aware of all of the pieces (railings, mattress supports) that went with the bed. Very nice, clean, well organized store with a friendly staff! I will be back!

Habitat of Oakland County was the ONLY donation org interested in sending a truck to pick up furniture. They were on time, efficient, strong, and knowledgeable of products suitable for donation. Zack, Clarence, and Corey worked well together, smiling, joking together, and managing the load with obvious expertise. Thank you, Habitat of Oakland County!

Home depot Don't, Lowe's & Menards are 10 to 20% Cheaper don't waste your time with with this Location . Shelby twsp bad attitude manager that thinks she is selling new stuff that was donated and if you donate don't expect a deal, I donated at least $3,000 worth of material and was quickly blown off NEVER AGAIN. The old crew understood it was used material but folks around the new location don't know any better they are all in the suburbs and don't have the common sense to whip their phones out and do a price check, The new Manager has a BAD Attitude and cost the NP thousands as in my business I own many rentals and remodeled many many homes the furniture is donated to them yet they ask twice what gardener white whom gave it to them did when they sell it, think I am lying do a price check, I went back today to see if they changed nope they got worse and went up to that 20% over. Retail, good luck to anyone that accidentally walks in there. If you donate donate to the church down the street they at least make you feel welcome.
