My experience with the LIGHT House was very disappointing. I was asked to leave after a returned lab test came back positive for amphetamines. I have five months and six days clean as of today. The test had a false positive due to one of my prescribed medications that commonly cause false positive urine tests. I asked to be retested, and they refused. They said there is zero tolerance policy for positive tests. I haven't known of a single person to finish all three stages of this program. Most people get kicked out of the program for reasons unrelated to using drugs or alcohol. They tried kicking me out three times before this last time when they finally succeeded. I have proof that I didn't use. A blood test taken the same day as my urine test came back squeaky clean. LIGHT House won't look at my proof because they know the are in the wrong with this one. I am now homeless living on the street. They don't care what happens to their clients. If they did they would have retested me or looked at my blood test results and welcomed me back with open arms. If anyone is thinking about joining this program, think twice. If you do, make sure you have a back up plan or two because they will kick you out even if you have no place to go. This place treats everyone like they're just a paycheck. Watch out for a woman named Jackie. She's the one who has it out for certain people. Clients are only a number to her.

I started my recovery in sobriety house after doing a month of inpatient. I then went to light house. Once I arrived to the building the paper work was long but worth it because right after I was transported to the green apartment where I felt very comfortable and free. Online groups go from 9am to 2:30pm where u can choose the groups/topics you wanna attend. I was able to find a job and start rebuilding my life. Yes this program will give you alot of rope to hang yourself. but if your committed to staying clean they'll provided housing and alot more overall I stayed 4 months in the apartment and I am very greatful to have 5 months clean. Before starting my journey I was homeless living in the woods not knowing if i was gonna die from my addiction so if your reading.this and are wondering should I give this place a chance do your self a favor and keep calling and get on the waiting list.

Have to agree with the review stating nobody is answering the phone. Been trying to call all week and nothing, however the site coordinator has been very good at emailing and keeping in contact but unfortunately intake is who I need to speak with

I’ve been calling daily for a week and nobody answers or calls back ( more than one message left) . Thank goodness my situation wasn’t a life or death cry for help. I’d be done for.

Not a good place if your serious about recovery only if your lazy and need a few weeks to stay somewhere free. People are constantly getting kicked out due to the 6th week funding phase. Staff is sleeping with residents and are only 14 months clean and are able to start working there. Counselors come and go like Covid and please do not attend this program if you are serious about getting your life together because after 6 weeks they WILL terminate you than your back to ground zero. Please do not let this happen to you like they did to me. Worst addiction center for compassion and integrity that I have ever been too. Might be a little cleaner area than Safestep in Westland but the compassion far outweighs a clean room just waiting for the next person as you pack and leave. Don’t do it and everyone who has made a good review slept with the staff.

This program is the absolute best, they make you feel comfortable, the staff is alway's available for you when you need them and the treatment facility is just like a home not a hospital like the rest, that makes you feel so much better being comfortable, the lighthouse is a awesome program

The staff are awesome and deserve a pay increase. Especially Mr delmar, mike,Nikki (nurse) you guys are very passionate about the client's and love going above and beyond for for us. The counselors are doing a great job as well. You guys made a hell of a impact on me. And I'm blessed to have met you all. I hope god continues to bless you guys as much as he blessed me.?????

I checked into the Madison Heights location to get help with alcohol withdrawal. One of the first things they told me was "there are absolutely NO bedbugs here". Upon checking into my room, my would-be roommate was getting kicked out. I came to find out that he was asked to leave because they found a bag containing crack cocaine residue on his person. They left his filthy bed unattended to as they checked me in. Next I discovered liquid feces sprayed all over the toilet. The bed and toilet were left as is until the next day when someone finally came in to clean up. Next evening I had developed a serious itchy rash and was suffering from hallucinogenic side effects of one of the drugs they had put me on. I was told that it must be an allergic reaction to the soap or something because they "simply do not have bed bugs" I asked to be transferred to Henry Ford Hospital but, instead was offered a cab ride to Beaumont, which quickly proved to be an inferior medical establishment. Here's where it got weird. First off, at Beaumont, I was told that they don't provide the detox medications that were required to prevent seizures, etc. during alcohol detox. They put me in a bed located in an aisle in their psych ward. I quickly realized what was going on when I witnessed the girl in the bed next to me TALKING TO DEAD PEOPLE. I asked if I was in a psych ward and was told "yes" and when I asked why the nurse stated that I was hallucinating the presence of bugs. Now, it's true that bed bugs are microscopic in there youthful state. But the rash up and down my arms was a dead giveaway that any medical professional should have been able identify as a reaction to bed bugs. After chewing the nurse out, a doctor showed up and retracted what the nurse had told me, claiming that I was placed in an aisle in the psych ward because there was nowhere else in the hospital for me. I went for a walk and discovered a couple a couple dozen empty rooms within the immediate vicinity of the bed they placed in an aisle for me, including 1 that was approximately 20 feet away. When I asked why I was lied to, I was told "yes, there are empty rooms. but that area (20 feet away) is 'closed'". It's also worth noting that the nurse kept giving me a hard time about my choice to not donate blood. I explained to him that my religion does not permit me to allow my body to be desecrated. He bothered me several time regarding this fact. Eventually, I got tired of this nonsense and walked over to the nurses station and requested to be discharged. It's worth noting that when I walked to to the nurses, they were standing around BSing with each other. They had time to BS but didn't have time to open the room that was 20 feet in front of me. I was quickly told that I could leave... no paperwork... not discharge instructions... no ride even though it was freezing outside... JUST GO.Continued in next post....
