I have been bringing my Welsh Terrier, Jordan, to MDT for years. First for some training and then for daycare and boarding. He loves his MDT friends and they take good care of him. Jordan is a senior now but his MDT buddies help to keep him young.

I’ve been bringing my dog Tavi to MDT for training, day care and boarding for the past 8 years and have never had a bad experience.Tavi just loves it there and can’t wait to spend a day or a week. It’s a really good feeling to know he’s in good hands with their very capable and well trained staff. What I like is they take into consideration each dog as an individual and can accommodate them per their temperament and needs. You can tell they really love animals and what they do. I would very highly recommend them as a 1st class facility.

We've used Michigan Dog Training for every stage of Rocket's development. We started with puppy training where he learned basic commands and then did e-collar training. Currently Rocket goes to MDT for daycare and he loves it.He has boarded there for short stays as well. We tried a couple other places for daycare but they just had a roomful of dogs running around and that stressed Rocket out. He loves the attention he gets at MDT. People comment all the time about how nicely Rocket walks on leash, comes when called and stays in place, all thanks to MDT training. We highly recommend MDT.

Michigan Dog Training has a special place in my heart because it’s the one place I trust with my Minnie. She is so excited to go to daycare and has separation anxiety so I know she really loves it when she goes with the staff when I drop her off. They also have a great day training program she took part of as well which was amazing. I see the staff as part of my family - they are all so wonderful!

Michigan Dog Training has been with us every step of the way, starting from puppy class all the way through Canine Good Citizen. But our favorite part is the pure joy on the faces of the trainers when our dog comes in for day care or boarding. We know she is loved and safe when she is in their care and that is priceless!

We have been to MI Dog Training and Michael Burkey in the past years for in-home training and e-collar for our golden retrievers. Went back a few months ago for e-collar training for our puppy (8 mos.) and also refresher for our older golden (9 yrs.). Mike is very knowledgeable of dog breeds and behaviors. He helped us train with the e-collar and be consistent. Our puppy now comes running when we call him and our older one is doing well too. Mike is very good at training us to understand our pets. We highly recommend Michael Burkey and MI Dog Training.

I wanna take a moment to thank someone special to me. Thank you Michael Burkey and thank you Lindsey Downing for all you did to make Annie-Paige Cross my service dog. Thank you for teaching her how to respond to my medical needs. I would be so lost without her. She has saved my life a few times, one of those times in which I had fainted and fallen down the stairs of my home. She was able to go and alert my mom that I had fainted, jumped over the baby gate of the stairs and immediately started applying deep pressure therapy to my chest to get me to arouse from unconsciousness. Had she not helped keep me awake, who knows how severe the concussion would’ve been.Again thank you both so much for taking the time and energy to train Annie to help me!

Very helpful. I needed to interview someone for a project and they responded in an hour. Answered all of my questions very well too.

I've been training with Mike at Michigan Dog Training for almost four years and have only had great experiences. My dog is exceptionally well trained because of Mike's training programs. I would recommend Michigan Dog Training to anyone looking for a trainer or daycare for their dog.

MDT training is amazing! I enrolled my two 16 mos old Labs into MDTs 6 week training program, as I could not get a handle on their behavior even after several months of training elsewhere. Over the 6 weeks the kind, caring and professional staff were able to return back to me two loving dogs that I can now actually walk on a leash without yanking, and have dogs who actually understand the commands. While I know I need to continue to reinforce the behavior patterns learned at MDT, I see a future of happy, well adjusted dogs with a very proud pet mama. Most of all I cannot say enough about the staffs kindness and care, as I was a little apprehensive as they had not been apart from me since birth, but when I saw they treated my pets as if they were their own, my heart soared. Shout out to Mike and all the MDT staff - Thank you!!!

Worst experience. Vet recommended for my dog with fear aggression, to prevent an incident. Mr Burkey came to my home. Would not get near my dog. Tried to sell me something to cover his eyes. Just told me to keep throwing treats at the dog. Charged $300. Was long ago but still very upsetting.

We had such an amazing experience with Michigan Dog Training! Michael and his team of trainers were so good with our beagle Brock, who had some difficulties adjusting to our recent move and change of surroundings. We enrolled him in the 6 week board and train program and were beyond happy with the results. Michael treated him like one of his own. The environment is very clean, staff is professional, and training methods were thorough and very humane. We were very impressed.

I started with Michigan Dog Training in the puppy class with Fidget earning her Star Puppy and then the Basic class and was very impressed. Eventually, after training Fidget at home for a while and other training, I decided to train her as a service dog for my social anxiety which is recognized by the ADA as a disability.Working privately with Michael has been amazing. I couldn't believe how much his knowledge about dogs has made such a huge difference in Fidget. The change after just one lesson was evident. I've learned that the e-collar isn't a punishment but rather just a tool to get her attention. Kind of like a tap on the shoulder. With my continuing the training at home and Michael, she's mastered walking on a loose leash, focusing on me versus her surroundings, recall, disregarding other dogs, the necessary tasks to be a service dog and earned her CGC.

We took 3 different classes with MDT and our dog learned very well. Michael was an awesome trainer and helped us teach her how to sit, lay down, leave it, place, walk on a leash, etc. He always encouraged questions and even gave insight into his own relationships with his dogs. Such a great experience and we will be back for more classes!

Remi had a “Harvard” education at Michigan Dog Training. It was because of the range of training available. Remi had Puppy 1 thru Advance Training, 3 day board & Stay, AKC Good Manners, E-Collar Training & Perfect Practice. Afterward, Remi was a well-adjusted puppy & I was thoroughly trained. Michael’s wealth of knowledge, concern & experience is unmatched. I was so impressed with Michigan Dog Training; my company hired him for a dog bite prevention demonstration. We highly recommend Michigan Dog Training.
