“If you are looking for an excellent mortgage loan officer speak to Denise Staffeld at DFCU Financial. In Plymouth, Michigan. She has helped process two mortgage applications for me. She was exceptional. In a very short amount of time she explained the procedures necessary for approval. She identified the paperwork needed to verify my current investment balances and annual income, etc. She kept me informed as to the status of my application and always promptly responded to my phone and email inquiries. Further, she continued to contact
my real estate agent to make certain there were no delays by her in expediting the
necessary paperwork. It is obvious she is very knowledgeable and competent
in the performance of her duties as a loan officer. DFCU is fortunate to have her
as an employee. I have dealt with other Financial Institutions and was disappointed
with the handling of my mortgage applications.”

“I wanted to take a minute to let you know what a terrific partner you have in Sheila Simmons. I frequently call on her for help with my accounts and she's always been a great help. But this week I needed to get some help for my friend and former business partner who along with his wife is in assisted living she under Hospice care and he losing his eye sight. Twice this week Sheila has spent well over an hour helping him get his banking back on track. Her hard work was much appreciated by him and me.

“Surprised to see so many 1 star complaints on here, this has been my bank for 10+ years and every time I have gone inside the reps have always been courteous and helpful. The drive thru got struck by lightening a few months back and it's remained closed but it's no fault of the bank, I was told the it needs a new drive thru system because the parts that got damaged can't be replaced.... Again, not their fault. They are short staffed like everywhere else and can be a bit of a wait but doesn't every bank have a line? A couple years ago my teenager got scammed on IG into using Zelle to give all his $600+ to a "bit coin miner" and after I had a melt down, went to the bank, filed a dispute with little to no hope of getting back his money, a month later the bank successfully got it back into his minor account. I was so impressed by their level of concern and commitment in being able to follow through the investigation without giving up and returning his hard earned money which he learned a very valuable lesson from. 5/3 is a great bank and it deserves 5 Stars. Sorry I didn't post my review earlier. It's true that more people will post a negative review more than a positive one, don't let the 1 Star reviews sway you.”

Getting anything done with them is very frustrating. Takes multiple calls and follow up is non existent. I shouldn’t be calling them multiple times, they should be keeping me in the loop. Will be looking for a car loan elsewhere.”

“Yesterday my niece in Lawrenceville, GA called regarding her Honda SUV that had failed. She needs a waterpump, rebuilt engine and other services totaling about $2,200. I didn't want to withdraw from my 401-K. Contacted Ms. Sara at MECU by phone and email. I sent my paystub and 2023 tax return copies. In less than two hours, my request for $2,500 was approved, we docusigned, and the money was put in my account. I recommend MECU for personal loans, car loans, mortgage loans or any financial needs anyday, everyday.”
