Owner (Graham I think is his name?) is super chill and has a huge collection of games & consoles of all kinds for sale. I've bought and traded lots of games & systems from here and evenwhen a disc was scratched, he offered to buff it for me. He seems like an honest guy. It's nice to have an alternative to GameStop without having to drive all the way to Traverse City.
Yes the arcade / store is downstairs. The coin business upstairs is his dad's. Just talk to the older gentleman upstairs to let you in, tell him if you want to play the arcade or buy / trade games.
Some honest feedback however: It would be great to see this business expand into its own building in the future, the added space and ability to hire staff would help a lot I feel. The current shop combined with the arcade is very cramped and dimly lit; it is a basement after all. A bit messy too, I'd love to see some alphabetization of the games for example, it makes it difficult to find what I'm looking for. That being said I just ask if he's got it and he pretty much knows exactly what he has at any given moment.

Unpleasant experience. The selection was decent.but nothing is priced.only game store in the state that doesn't price any inventory. He uses a game price chart that changes daily/ uneducated customers I would avoid this establishment at all costs. Make the drive to grand traverse gameing in tc wont be dispointed.

Incredible! It wasn't the easiest to find, there's a sign in the window of a coin collection shop. The gentleman in there directed us to the downstairs part of the building. The owner of the arcade was very friendly and helpful. The games were great, my boys loved playing older arcade machines. There's a great selection! I'll visit anytime I'm in the area!

Hidden gem of an arcade in the basement. Our family had a blast and also checked out the currency on the main floor.

Horrible experience. Walked in and asked where the arcade was, due to their being a sign in the window. Some older man looked at me and said it’s this building down stairs
I had replied okay I’m out of town and never been here before, can you show me how to get there?
He replied saying, I already told you, why don’t you leave now, they don’t want you here. I genuinely did not know what he meant saying in this building down stairs as it was an extremely messy coin shop with no video game arcade details insight.
But to immediately jump to the “we don’t want you here” after trying to find the entrance as a tourist from out of town is very unappealing and unwelcoming.
I see multiple reviews complaining about this same guy.
And yes I did have some words to say to the older man, as he was a very un professional jerk
EDIT:
The owners reply shows the way he treats his customers as he blatantly admits he doesn’t want me there because I was confused on how to find the entrance.
So what you’re telling me is, if a customer is confused on a topic, that you don’t want to associate yourselves with them, or to help them, but to instead, insult them.
The common consensus is, your shop has MULTIPLE of the same review. The fact that your replies on everyone’s 1 star reviews are just you pointing fingers is enough for the public to see.
That being said, I advise Amazon over this place any day.

Oh my gosh. So I’m well aware there is a retro game store in my town (TC) but let me tell you, the drive is worth it to this place. I have terrible anxiety and I always feel welcomed, never belittled and my questions and concerns are always welcomed. I have bought so many games from here and will continue to do so. This is my go to spot. Heck, it’s a cool place to just check out!

Pretty cool game machines and a awesome retro selection! The only thing is the place and owners gave me a weird vibe, maybe it’s just me ?♀️

Very very cool place. Read some of these 1 star reviews and kinda laughed to myself because that’s not at all what our experience was like. Owner was very kind and also incredibly knowledgeable. Now that we know this is here we will most definitely be back. The arcade itself is one thing but the layout of the entire vintage video game collection is well thought out and hits all the right nostalgic feelings.

So impressed. Sure, one guy is on shift and the machines raise the temperature. But, the store selection and games offered in cabinet; truly stand out.

My family of 6 had a great time at this arcade! For much less than the cost of a movie, my kids (ages 13, 11, 9, 7 - boys and girls), wife and I were thoroughly entertained for 2.5hrs. Just being able to see the collection, is worth the $5 cover charge. My kids are already saving quarters for the next time we go!The arcade is in the basement of the coin shop, so you will need to go in the coin shop and ask for the arcade.Don't miss this gem!

Fun retro games, can trade in as well. Dress lightly and youll do fine. Bit warm down there otherwise marvelous. Can buy videogames, game system holders and controllers. Owner was very attentive to our questions about merchandise. I left an item behind and he returned it to me as I was leaving the shop.
