Good selection, good prices. Large parking lot. Friendly staff. Clean and pleasant place to shop. Bathrooms are clean. Can be busy at times. Convenient location, just off the freeway on the north side of Paw Paw.

This Walmart has been a lifesaver for me. While setting up my cottages in the area for Airbnb, I visited Walmart almost every day. I've found the staff happy and helpful. I've also used their online portal to order and have things delivered. Super easy and convenient. So I started using that online app to order groceries and supplies. In this post-COVID, I know a lot of stars have trouble keeping employees, but I have seen many of the same faces every time I've been there.

I understand that even the big stores want to save money but this was ridiculous. I stopped at the Paw Paw store this morning to do a little Christmas shopping. I had the Keurig coffee maker in the cart and headed over to electronics to get a 50" Visio TV and an Apple iPad. I walked around for 15 minutes trying to find a sales associate with no luck. Sorry Walmart, went to Costco, spent about $1000 and got everything I wanted. I try to shop local but this may be the end to that effort.

I've never encountered a store like this Walmart. No one at the store picks up the phone not the pharmacy not the main number it just rings and rings and rings and rings. I will tell my mother to go to a different pharmacy. Totally ridiculous.

I absolutely hate this place. I'm only giving it one start because it one of the bigger grocers in the area and they have a great variety. You will meet some of the kindest cashiers there, Jerry and Dwight, and they are my absolute favorite. But I feel like everything is a hassle. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have gone and selves are empty. I have gone around 6 am, 8 am, midday, the evening and even late at night when they were open overnight. On multiple occasions I have left with out a good amount of stuff on my list. Mind you, it's not a specific brand of some produce no one hardly uses. I'm talking cilantro, bell peppers, bananas, butter. It's to the point that I now go to Family Fare or Save A Lot before I try heading in there. They also have in-store pick up. If you are thinking of using that service: PLEASE DONT!!!! I was running low on diapers and wipes and my husband order me both items through the Paw Paw location. He ordered around 9am in the morning. The Walmart website stated that the items had to be submitted before 3pm for same day pick up. Everything is well, so far, he had paid of all the items he bought. and he receives an e-mail starting the items should be ready by 5pm. We go into Walmart at 6 o'clock because he hadn't received and email from the local Walmart for pick up. He speaks to an employee who gets a manager out, this person states that they have had an extremely busy day but that order should be done by that night. No problem, we are usually understandable. He returns around 8pm because he hasn't heard anything... they did not fill the order. He speaks two ladies in charge and both dismiss him saying, "oh yeah, we don't fill orders on the same day. It doesn't matter what time you order online, we usually don't have anything ready the same day". When he asks why, he is told because of lack of personnel. Again, no problem, he then asks if he can simply go back and grab what he ordered because IT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR. They said no, that they could not do that, it would be more complicated and that they would have to cancel the online order and have him pay for that order. He was infuriated, told them off and let them know he would call the GM. At 9pm, 15 minutes after he got home, he receives an email stating that his order is ready for pick up. These people are horrible. I would rather spend extra money at Family Fare then deal with these individuals and their lack of Customer Service. Paw Paw Walmart, you are the worst.

You ever have one of those times where you're actually glad to have a Wal-Mart nearby? We had a situation like that a bit ago. Coming home after a recent storm, I found that the power had flickered while we'd been out, and while most of my electronics had been fine, my loyal gaming television- one that had been with me since my days at Western, several years ago- finally had just given up the ghost, giving me the red light of death and absolutely refusing to even acknowledge the power button being pressed, held, hammered, what have you. Being that we were going to head to Wal-Mart anyways, we made some time to go and wander the electronics section to go price some new TVs and see just how much it would cost us to replace. So we just wander on over and well, what do you know- we find a bigger TV than we thought we could afford, on sale- with some features built into it that would allow me to re-do some of my entertainment setup and open up some connection space to maybe hook up something new! But what is a night of entertainment without some tasty snacks, I ask you? So we were off to the cold sandwiches- and yep, they have my favorite: chicken caesar wraps. Everything but the croutons all wrapped up in a tortilla or tortilla-like device, cut in half, and absolutely freaking tasty. It's the same with the bigger sandwiches- for store sandwiches (I mean, let's face it, we've all had the sandwich from a store where we bite it, recognize it as meat and cheese, but then aren't sure what kind of meat's on it without looking at the label), they're really, really worth the price. I just wish they came with more mustard/mayo/whatever than just the two little packets. So, all in all, we got a wonderful TV for cheaper than we thought, helped by some of the most helpful people in the area, and got to spend the evening perched in front of a bigger TV than we thought possible eating tasty cold sandwiches and thanking anything we didn't have to run all to Kalamazoo for any of this stuff. About the only problem we ran into was that it was an absolute pain getting our TV through the crowded aisles- maybe if there were fewer displays in the middle of the aisles, it could make it easier to manuver? But still, it gets another star from my previous rating.

Starlight likes to leave permanent scratches on my face using Paw Paw, and also likes to scratch up the wall. So I came here hoping to buy a new Wall, since obviously you would think WALL MART sells WALLS. Well guess what. THEY DON'T SELL WALLS. FALSE ADVERTISING. ONE STAR. Just kidding. I feel weird saying it might be my favourite Walmart. I just could not believe how ridiculously friendly and helpful everybody was. Some of the girls seemed to like me as well. Or suspect me of stealing. Or both. Reason I say this... One of them was following me around flirting with me in many different sections at the store. Then another one was following me around the front end, later (maybe she wanted to check out my front end?) It's just a really nice small-town Walmart which also happens to be absolutely enormous (don't go there, this is about Wall Mart not selling walls, not my Front End), and have everything you might want. I would never usually give Walmart more than a one or two for very many reasons but this one that deserves the rating. It loses 1 star because... well, because it's Walmart.

This Walmart has some of the rudest employees I've ever encountered in a customer-service oriented company. Just wow. We were checking out at the self-check-out and something happened with items, where it was detecting a "phantom" object and was holding us up. The woman who was attending the machines came up behind my husband and yapped "get out of my way" and at first we thought she was joking, but no, after coming out of shock we both looked at each other in bewilderment when we realized she actually just had that nasty of an attitude. No other words to us, just left to go yap at some other customer. And that's just one story. I wish they had built a Meijer in Paw Paw instead. You know, a company that actually cares about hiring and training decent employees, because it cares about its community.

Maintaining their shelves is regularly a problem. More visits than not the items I am trying to buy are missing from their shelves. It is rather frustrating.

A new Walmart has got to be a huge deal for a town the size of Paw Paw. Generally we're not the biggest Walmart fans, however I must admit this is a very nice Walmart and I don't think it's just the new store shine. The groceries section is reasonably large, the selection is decent and they seem to carry (and brag about) some locally sourced products. Overall the produce looked decent with the exception of the sweet corn that looked so bad that it was probably nasty when it was sitting in the same location last week. The thing that earned the store an extra star in my book was the people. Now, employees of walmart generally have a bit of a reputation. Either this reputation has changed recently or my experience at Paw Paw was an exception to the rule. I had multiple people stop me in the isles to tell me hi and ask how I was doing. It was the perfect amount, not so much that it seemed creepy. I doubt we'll be driving to this store as a destination, but f we need something quick and are in the area it is definitely an acceptable shopping location.
