My most recent experiences with this practice virtually mirrors that of reviewer Sheila McIntire. I had been a well-cared-for patient here starting in childhood and continued for over 30 years. Today, the word "care" has no business being used to describe what is going on in this place. Patients are treated like pests and are consistently lied to by the staff. Need a prescription refilled to maintain a daily treatment? Expect to be off your meds at least a week at every refill request.

Disgustingly disorganized for a doctors office. Whatever time your appointment is, expect to wait an additional 35 minutes in the lobby. Today I had an appointment, at 10:00 and at 10:45 the receptionist canceled my appointment for reasons that did not make sense. I made this appointment 3 months ago on a day they said, after a visit of the exact same kind, yet my appointment was canceled because they claim I had never been there before and needed a physical before I could get an injection. I have never been anywhere else and I have all previous visits recorded. So after driving in terrible snow and waiting 50 minutes in the lobby they told me to go home.

I have been attempting to contact someone without success, despite needing specific medication. All other specialists involved in this process have been cooperative and have provided the necessary tests and information promptly. However, it has been a month since my results were received, and I am still waiting for the prescription.

I was liking the doctor I was seeing. But reception always seemed off. They had me come in for a pre-op for a surgery I wasn't having. I called and asked what it was for and they couldn't tell me, but I was having a sleep study done soon and thought maybe it'd have to do with that. I get there and Dr. Perry is like "Why are you here?"
Now I am needing a refill on a prescription and they won't answer the phone or call me back. It's been months like this.
Does anyone even work here anymore? I see that McClaren has responded to all these negative reviews, but nothing has changed in a year. I tried calling and the voice mail box to the patient experience line just hangs up on me! Same treatment!

I have left a message since June of 2023 and have yet to get a call back from the Okemos location. I just called the main Lansing Center and left a message I will see if they should ever call back. I waited 15 minutes on hold and no one ever answered today on a refill for a med. Still not received a call back. Enough said

I am sad to write this review. I have received excellent care from this office for 30 years. Now, the care is terrible. It's impossible to speak to a human, you can't get in for an appointment, and it takes days for them to get back to you for anything. They have cancelled my last two appointments last minute. One was for a medication follow up and they were rude on the phone when I told them I needed a new script sent in because my appointment was pushed out over a month. I know there has been a high turn over in front staff, and almost all the doctors have left the practice. Not only is this very frustrating, but it is compromising the health of patients. Ongoing health conditions that are managed through this office can't just be sent to urgent care or the ER because of lack of appointments, which is their go to answer when you can't get in. Once again, this is absolutely compromising patient care. This would never be acceptable in the doctor's office I work at. Stay clear of this office at all costs.

I’ve been going to the same doctor for years now (Emily Smith) even when she moved offices, even after my family stopped seeing her when she failed to find my aunts cancer before it took her life, even after she missed my moms brain tumor through all of her symptoms. But I am finally drawing a line after today. For one thing you can’t even get in to see her anymore you have to see a different doctor or nurse in her office (and never the same one) because she’s like the only full time doctor at that location. I went in today to see a new nurse practitioner I hadn’t seen before (Nichole Lindemier) it was literally just supposed to be a follow up so that I could get put back on my anxiety/depression meds. So I’m answering the mental health questionnaire the same way I answer every time I go for years now, and this woman decides that I need to go to the ER right away to be placed under psychiatric hold. Keep in mind I have been dealing with the same symptoms for years and I would not have even gone in for my appointment if I was doing that bad. I tried to explain to her that even if I went to the ER it would be a waste of resources on their end because I was not planning on hurting myself or anyone else and that’s the only reason any place will admit you. I’m already in therapy and like I said I was at an appointment just trying to be put back on medication to help with some of these mild symptoms I’m having. She even went to ask Emily if that’s what she should do and Emily agreed in the split second they had a conversation!! She came back in and told me if my mom didn’t take me straight to the ER they were going to call an ambulance to take me!!! At no point in that appointment did I cry, lose my temper, or even make it seem like I was in danger in any way. The lack of knowledge about the mental health system on her part was absolutely ridiculous. We got her to agree to let me go to crisis services instead and I explained the entire situation to a therapist there and even she was in utter shock. Luckily I have the knowledge and resources that I need, but trust me when I tell you I’m going to be looking for a new doctors office now, and I will not be going back there.

Been calling for three weeks to schedule an appointment. They do not answer calls. They do not return calls. Looking at all the recent reviews, they don't call anyone back, and this is a doctor's office. State of Michigan should step in and address this.

My Dr quit, I did not get notified. Last time I spoke by phone I was put off and didn’t get what I needed. I don’t even know who my family Dr is at the moment. An unhappy patient who may try and find a new office.

Emily smith is an amazing doctor and I have no complaints about her she’s been a huge help for me since she’s been my primary, BUT whoever is working front desk has been declining my calls for 3 WEEKS now. This is absolutely ridiculous and I’ve left voicemails with them and I never get calls back. I urgently need to see my doctor due to health reasons that could very well be major. I was referred to a GI doctor and I asked what is their phone number and address, I was told to GOOGLE it by a ‘receptionist’ as well. I’m extremely disappointed in these women considering I had nothing but top tier treatment since I’ve been with Mclaren in 2021. I didn’t know they were allowed to decline calls THAT many times. Especially if a patient is telling you they NEED an appointment and it’s urgent. I feel very mistreated by the front desk receptionist women, as if im not being heard for my needs.

My kids see Emily Smith I love her she is amazing but I had to book my appointment online because I have been calling for 2 days and no one has answered the phone and I left 2 voicemails with no return call

Had appointment at 1:40 PM, but got to the place and the door was closed with a sign saying closed from 1PM to 2PM. Which is strange, since why would I be able to have an appointment at that time. In addition, waited until 2:30 PM and still no one was there and door was still closed. Couldn't get a hold of anyone through the phone.

Worst customer service!!
I missed a call from one of the doctor’s office in this location. In the voice mail they mentioned about some lab test result which was high and the doctor has some message for me. I called back thrice and everytime either it reaches the voicemail or if someone receives the call routed me to the voice mailbox. Left all my details in voice mailbox but no call back. There is no other way for you to reach doctor. Stay away from them. They are not serious about your health.
