“I started my very first quilting project almost two years ago. I’m still working on it. Hand quilting takes longer than I thought. I have bought dozens of yards from Country Stitches and I’m so lucky to live nearby it. The staff is always so kind and helpful. They’ve witnessed me carrying too much fabric and given me a cart to put everything in, they’ve chatted with me about projects, made recommendations on fabrics, and just generally been very accommodating.
Several of the fabrics I’ve bought from here are favorites in my quilt. The sheer range and quantity of everything they have is phenomenal. There’s so many options and lots of beautifully hand-dyed fabrics as well.
Shopping local and small is so so important. Even though it’s a little more expensive, it’s worth it for the level of quality and the people you’re supporting when you buy local.”

“The Okemos Home Depot is great for all of your home project needs. The employees are often knowledgeable about the products, and locations. The lumber is not the best quality depending on what you're doing, but works for most stuff.
