On Saturday May 18th 2024, my daughter and I visited this location. My goal was to either exchange or return a perfume that I had purchased the week before. I liked the fragrance when I sampled it in the store but once I brought it home and wore it for a day I realized it didn’t settle well on my skin.The woman at the register was not very approachable. She had what seemed like an attitude or like she may have been passing judgment before even understanding what I was trying to do. I’m not sure her name but she was an older woman. As I began to explain to her what I was wanting to do with the fragrance it was as though she had an attitude and spoke in a very condescending tone about my options. It made me feel as though she was speaking to a child who was being punished. I am a 40 year old educated woman and I was being very clear and respectful as to what I was there for.As I was walking out of the store I could hear the woman talking about me to the other sales associate, making comments about my choice to return this fragrance. I get the feeling she may have thought I was just trying to bring in a random fragrance off the street to get money for it. Once she checked my Sephora account she could see I actually purchased it, her tone changed slightly but still condescending.Good customer service comes from not making immediate assumptions about people and communicating in a tone that makes someone feel like they want to shop there and be there. This woman needs additional training and increased self awareness.

I bought some powder foundation in the AM and was taken care of by a very nice blonde haired lady...I went back in the afternoon to return it because I didn't care for it there were two ladies standing behind the counter the younger girl starting my return and the other older lady just started questioning me when she heard me say I bought the foundation in the AM she says (you're already returning it) and even asked if I use moisturizer on my face instead of offering to help me find a different kind of foundation this definitely was the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time I'll be avoiding this Sephora when she is working

Zakia assisted me today and had excellent customer service. Her product knowledge was exceptional and she was super friendly! She also went out of her way to suggest some alternatives as the item I was looking for wasn’t currently in stock. Zakia is a wonderful asset to the Sephora team!

That Sephora is located inside a Kohl's store, and it's worth noting that they do not accept Kohl's coupons or amazon return coupons. At the same time, they process payment transactions as Kohl's purchases, which means you also won't receive any bank rewards if you have any for Sephora purchases. It doesn't make any sense to shop there if you want to apply some kind of savings deal.I shopped there for the first time and simply asked them to select any foundation they thought would work for me. The manager was very kind and quickly chose the correct tone for my skin. The product and its tone were great, and I will probably purchase it again, but from a different store.

The manager at that particular location in Novi, Diane, has the worst demeanor and customer service I have experienced in a long time. She is consistently rude, prefers talking to her associates about things needing to get done and conference calls, rather than take care of her few customers. She did not bother to offer a color match when asked about foundation. I have called the Store Manager directly to provide feedback, as I am a former Sephora manager in a stand alone store, and I can see that her behavior and attitude have not changed. I love Sephora in Kohl's because I can use my Kohl's charge. But I will be driving to a different Kohl's from now on. As a Kohl's MVP and Sephora VIB, I would expect better.

Very rude costumer service ordered item to be sent 3 different places in the store it was just a box of Tupperware or Rubbermaid as the cashier wanted to correct me for anything we said definitely will not be going to this location again for the lazy work ethic and mess of a store

Manager at the Sephora inside Kohl’s in Novi is rude & condescending. I will never, ever shop there again.

Went in wanting to buy, was needing some guidance…..which I didn’t receive. Employee was too busy to help even after I asked and even though I was the only person there.Nice layout of the Sephora area though and great selection.

Stopped by here for Amazon drop-off. It was of course the shortest line in the whole place. Two banks of registers and the lines are about 15+ people deep. Guess undergarments can wait or be purchased online. This is why Amzn makes it big during the holidays. Who likes to wait in line to hand over their cash for subpar items?
