Ashley is not a hairdresser. She’s a hair artist!A true hair stylist and color genius, who shows her passion and knowledge through her work and confirmed it with results.Having moved to the area from New York City, Chicago being my second home, and traveling to Europe for work where I too get my hair done, I was concerned finding a good hair dresser in the suburbs of Detroit, who understood my hair needs.Since June I tried three hairstylist.I experienced unprofessionalism, lack of skills and poor knowledge about color. One salon even charged me 15$ for a disappointing consultation. Disaster and hopelessness.I am a brunette with a a lot of red undertone. Most hairdressers I have met, anywhere, know how to do dark or light tones. My hair has been turned almost black or my grays have turned orange by people who have done hair for decades.Ashley is the stylist who really knows and shows she loves what she does, I could tell just by the consultation I had with her.She uses Inoa, the best ammonia free, French line hair color which I have only used when in Italy. She went out her way to also find me the perfect formula to use between my salon visits as my gray growth starts showing in just one week! (reason why I won’t be able to attach a pic of my color to this review just yet as I waited too long since the color to post this review). I have already used the color she told me to buy and it’s the best match ever, better than what some “professional” I have seen have used.She also gave me a reference in Chicago for when I visit my family for extended time.After months of frustration, being canceled and Ignored by one hairdresser, walking out of a salon feeling disappointed and short 150$, Ashley has saved me. If you want a hairdresser go anywhere, If you want a professional, knowledgeable and reliable hair stylist who truly knows the art of hair come to see Ashley at Salon Unity. Pam is the only person who has ever colored or highlighted my hair. I have been seeing Pam and John for over twenty years. The salon and staff are exceptional and fun. I know I say this probably every time, but I absolutely loved my tint and highlight Pam!! Plus it’s always great catching up with you, thank you!!

Getting my lash extensions done. They do the best job here! See Pam she also does a great color for your hair. Very friendly and great service! Had to update to include John and what a great job he did on my Brazilian blowout! You could never tell by the picture that I have an unruly mess in the summer from all the humidity a Michigan summer has to offer. Come and see John and voila! All gone

I love this place. Excellent customer service & great quality. They really focus on the health of your hair while maintaining style. Pam is a fantastic colorist and Christine is wonderful stylist. I’ve also seen Christine’s color work & it is very impressive. I never wait for an appointment unless I arrive early. They are courteous and very professional. They are also very accommodating should issues arises in one’s personal life, as they often do. Lovely people and great work. You cannot go wrong here.
