Rob and the team at Phil's are excellent, great communication and attention to detail. They took the time to go through every detail of my son's truck to completely diagnose and solve the timing and engine issues. Since the service the truck has been running prefect and have experienced no issues.Certainly will use Phil's 76 in the future!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Phil’s 76 Service is the kind of place I recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy & knowledgeable mechanic. They take the time to find solutions at a reasonable cost vs many auto shops that look for up-charges. I have had everything from tires and brakes to a full engine replacement done at Phils. Ask for Rob and he will take care of you.Services: Tires

I’ve taken all of my vehicles to Phil’s 76 Service in Northville for over 20 years now. They’re all incredibly knowledgeable, have your best interest at heart and competitively priced. They’re also much more knowledgeable than any dealership I’ve dealt with. Go to Phil’s, you won’t regret it.Services: Auto water leak repair

5/3/2021Following up on car won't run after spending so much money. See xbr3215 for part 1 of this review sorted as one of the lowest ratings of phil76 service. Our independent, impartial, third partyHas completed running his scans on the ECU of the 2006 Honda Accord. The scanning software tools at his disposal are up to date, extensive (which includes all American and Foreign cars (which include Japanese made cars), and is costly. His conclusion as to the underlying issues for which the car was brought to phil76 in the first place for are as follows:1. 4 of the 6 cylinders are misfiring, requiring replacement of the sparkplugs;2. The Honda Accord needs a new timing belt and water pump replacement; The total cost of repairing the underlying problems in paragraph one, part one, of this review, is an ironical cost of $ 1,156.46. Almost the identical amount to what phil76 charged and collected on 4/13-14/2021.Below is an excerpt of another portion of the excised response abruptly pulled offline earlier by phil76."...We brought the vehicle into our shop to perform some tests on different systems to try to find the root of the prevous sputtering Symptom."the independent expert's conclusions certainly raise a reasonable doubt regarding the veracity of phil76's diagnosis of the true underlying issues with regard to the 2006 Honda Accord. Our independent expert also expressed incredulity regarding the "excessive" charges assessed by phil76 for the dubious work actually performed. If phil76 decides now to resolve this matter within 24 hours of this posting, i am open to the idea of signing off on it. Phil76 has my contact information.Martin Forman

4/13/2021. Car drop off.Explained the problem up front, sputtering engine and no acceleration on a 2006 honda accord v6 with no accidents and well maintained. 4/15/2021-Car pickup.4/17/2021- Return to office in person to discuss same underlying problem not corrected as promised and agreed to. Saturday. Rude and disrespectful rodney in office at the time.4/19/2021 Car drop off monday morning again with neighbor/ friend in attendence.Car picked up later same day.To make a long story short, and taking them at their word, a new complete brake job, a new battery, and $1,200 later, the same problem persists.Honesty, obviously, appears to have little relevance in relation to the best financial outcome for these wise guys, especially so during a centennial pandemic.Follow up on car won't run after spending so much money :4/28/2021, after driving down to receive a second covid shot at 15521 west seven mile in detroit, the engine light started flashing on the freeway and the car would not accelerate while on the freeway, just before the seven mile exit. Managed to drive the car as the engine light flashed and the engine sputtered out. When i got back into the car after the appointment, the car drove slowly as the engine light flashed. The car was driven down seven mile to avoid re-entering the freeway.Drove directly to phil's 76 to once again complain about the original problem. When i entered the office i was told by rob that he wished to sever any further service for the work done, or any further work to correct the problem on this vehicle. Walked out with the car in the same condition it was in when i came in, a few days before, and $1200 out of pocket.P.S. Have all records/receipts on a brand new battery previously installed on 10-12-2018 by another local merchant.Battery/labor charge total: $156.83.Phil's76 Battery/labor charge total: $357.65.(Roughly a 43.9% padded jump in price in About 30 months). Details to be expanded upon at a later date and forum. No battery complaints made whatsoever on first visit. Car always started smoothly/radio/lights/etc., deemed adequate.4/29/21: Follow up on car won't run after spending so much money:Verify & confirm. The next step is to follow up on an offer of friends in the community to have the car inspected by an independent third party to see whether phils76's itemized invoice description of services performed matches up with the true nature of the underlying mechanical issues involved and what specific parts have/or have not been installed by phils76 on this particular auto. This process should take about a week.4/30/21: Follow up on car won't run after spending so much money:Below is an excerpt of the bumbling, rambling, and perfunctory response from the "owner" of phils76 auto shop. The full posting was suddenly and abruptly removed shortly thereafter, for whatever reason or another. However, it doescontain a general, factualchronology of specific procedures/or lack thereof, taken by phil76 and are in the "owners" own words.Certain information contained therein will be used as a checklist by our third party to verify and confirm what phil76 actually did/did not do with regard to the car in question.More excerpts of phil76's entire posted and removed response to follow. If phil76 decides now to resolve this matter, i am open to the idea of signing off on it. Phil76 has my contact information...."....I don't know where being civil has gone in 2021 but all I did was install a Battery in this Vehicle that tested bad. The other work performed was maintenance. I really feel bad that He feels that he has been cheated. Even after all the Lawsuit threatening and berating we still offer a Free Diagnosis on his Vehicle with no strings attached. He is still a Person that feels cheated and we are an accountable shop so we would rather see a happy, stress free person than this...."Martin Forman

Rob and Rodney treat us like family. After many years, and trying many different service/mechanics, I can honestly say they are the most honest and fair company out there. We have four family vehicles and they have serviced them all. Most recently they helped us out of a difficult situation with a car accident. I recommend Phil's 76 for everything from a new battery to brakes - they've done them all for us and with great service and prices.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I paid $105 to have my car towed 10 miles....$75 for a hook and $3 per mile.... on top of that, you have to ride with the tow truck or find a ride to follow the tow truck so you can pay him when he/she gets to the destination. This business does not accommodate you in any way in a situation that's already stressful. I will not use the company again unless they come up with better prices and better customer service.

Scheduled a uhaul pick-up for Sunday and when I went in to get the keys (supposed to be hand-delivered), the man at his desk told me “we don’t do business with uhaul on the weekends”. I had to call uhaul and they relocated me to a farmington shop. Would not go back here or recommend anyone this place. Very rude employees.
